The tragedy for Pakistan is, however far and wide you seek, there are no intelligent leaders. The entire 'brain' trust consists of { Sharifs, Zardaris, IK, Dar, ....... } Unfortunately, I will not hire any of them to manage my local Walmart or Costco. If an empirical observation may be made, it is this: Pakistan has sorted itself into two fractions. The more intelligent Pakistanis are outside Pakistan, and the less intelligent Pakistanis are inside Pakistan. The ones on the outside are wondering, how come all those in the country are so stupid, either unwilling or pretending not to understand how it happened. One of the most inept stupid leaders pak has ever produced.

This bailout ain't coming.....The theft and corruption is being unearthed at a record rate by the IMF.
Incorrect. Not many in the world have the smarts to cheat 230 million people of their past, present and future, swallow tens of billions of dollars in international aid with precious few results to show for them and even hoodwink IMF 22 times over decades and decades? And yet we continue with this tradition of Pakistani leaders. Evil maybe, but intelligent surely. The tragedy for Pakistan is, however far and wide you seek, there are no intelligent leaders.
I am guessing bailout will come when the SBP balances are at $1 million. Like a James Bond movie. The bailout will come, but the longer it takes, the more stringent measures needed to get back into fiscal balance.
I was not being cynical. Other than Miftah Ismail, I have not read any politician from any party make an intelligent comment or suggestion. They all sound like clones of George Santos.Incorrect. There were some smart people in the PTI govt. Moeed Yusuf, Hammad Azhar, Ishrat Hussain and Sania Nishtar. Asad Umar handled Covid well with establishment cooperation. The tragedy for Pakistan is, however far and wide you seek, there are no intelligent leaders. this is not false either. The like of Zardari are surely very intelligent. Not the technical type that would benefit he country but the Machiavellian types for sure.Incorrect. I have been partial towards Miftah, but let’s be real, he too is an idiot. He is no better than Shaukat Tareen. Frankly, there are much smarter people than him.I am guessing bailout will come when the SBP balances are at $1 million. Like a James Bond movie.

His opinions may be unpopular, but 'idiot' is not an appellation one can attach to a Ph.D. in Economics from Wharton. Nathan Porter of IMF, currently performing a colonoscopy on Dar is also a Ph.D. in Economics from Wharton.I have been partial towards Miftah, but let’s be real, he too is an idiot. On Zardari's intellectual prowess:zardari is but no one can beat showbaaz, then you should checkout how much the handsome messiah and his minions from PPP, PMLN and overseas rejects added to the nation's debt
Zardari's academic background remains a question mark. He received his primary education from Karachi Grammar School. His official biography says he graduated from Cadet College, Petaro in 1972. He went to St Patrick's High School, Karachi from 1973 to 1974; a school clerk says he failed his final examination there. In March 2008, he claimed he had graduated from the London School of Business Studies with a bachelor of education degree in the early 1970s. Zardari's official biography states he also attended Pedinton School in Britain. His British education, however, has not been confirmed, and a search did not turn up any Pedinton School in London. The issue of his diploma was contentious because a 2002 rule required candidates for Parliament to hold a college degree, but the rule was overturned by Pakistan's Supreme Court in April 2008 |

how does zardari buying a degree from the internet disqualify him from being a top crook? On Zardari's intellectual prowess:

Dar is not a minister because of his education or the lack thereof but because he is part of the crooked Pandit family. tell Sri Modi-Jee that it's about time he arranged some ghar-wapsi for this lot.I am guessing bailout will come when the SBP balances are at $1 million. Like a James Bond movie.

Look at this. They are not even in the same league. Dar plays tic-tac-toe, Porter plays chess.

You read Dawn I take it. Don’t put too much cred on people that write editorials for it. The others don’t because it doesn’t fit in with Dawn editorial opinions. His opinions may be unpopular, but 'idiot' is not an appellation one can attach to a Ph.D. in Economics from Wharton. Nathan Porter of IMF, currently performing a colonoscopy on Dar is also a Ph.D. in Economics from Wharton.
About the smarter people: why don't they raise their voice and suggest some solutions? At least they can write Op-eds. I have not seen any. Except one or two from Ex SBP Governors, who do appear to know a thing or two about economics.
He had degree in public finance and political economy. That is quite a fluffy field . Not hardcore quantitative economics. Also Miftah has a degree in public finance- I think that’s under business administration. That’s not economics.
