You're ill informed if you thought there was no animosity between Jains and Buddhists. You should take a look into Emperor Ashoka's reign when Jains were converted into Buddhists, and Jain idols were destroyed from the temples.

The only instance I have read is from Ashokavandana which again has been fabricated by our so called left-secular historians. Buddhists and Jain lived with Hindus for a 1000 years before the islamic invasion so if you want to find the missing buddhist then I suggest you look in pakistan and Bangladesh.
