IMF to significantly downgrade Indian growth figure

Proves that multi-ethnic countries are economic failures as I have stated on this forum many times.

Even with the downturn in BD exports, it is still predicted to hit 7.5% this year and 7.2% next year. India just collapses down to 5% lol
uk, france, germany are economic failure? it depends on how you harness them.. diversity is a blessing.. has their any country who is totally homogenous? what are you talking about man

.
The Black Economy is being transformed to white that's why growth has reached a momentary air pocket...Should soon again hit 6.5 to 7 percent growth. The days of 8 percent plus growth would be sporadic from now on ...Yes thelast sixmonths, non-economic issues took a precedence, but the economy dominates the national narrative in India way more than any other South Asian country with the possible exception of recent Bangladesh

Problem of South Asia is lack of culture of excellence and lack of diversification:

India's economy growth engine was always IT services exports
Bangladesh's growth engine was always garment exports

Don't know the growth engine of Pakistan though

Yep, I will trust rapists over world economic news. :disagree:
Everyone, including IMF is reporting slowdown in India.
Call is what you want but in a normal society when economy goes down, people vote out the ones responsible.
In India, Hindus do not care about feeding their children. They only care about hurting Muslims.

No they are not true multi-ethnic countries.
Read my last post to see my definition of multi-ethnic country.

still OKayish growth..IMF didnot say that India went into recession..Rape problem is because some regressives cannot cope with the massive ongoing participation of women in the organized work force..Believe you me, same problem will hit Pakistan for a decade once the economy grows super fast and women are also forced to participate in organized highly skilled labour force...there are regressives in every country of South Asia, whom are we kidding?

so India is coming back to Hindu Growth rate.

India's growth rate has bottomed out...and even now it is higher than the growth rate between 1947 and 1991..Don't worry India will not come to Pakistan for help...on second thought though India might build more dams to generate electricity

well well - ethnicity is not the only important factor. how about united states?
multiethnic is waaayyy better than having only one as majority. You can think and grow in other dimensions. i detest the idea of a company with only pakistanis or bengalis or english or only xyz.. its complete shite.
you got to dissolve them a little bit in one mould.. just a little , so all can converge on same goals. then let them be free and teach them tolerance.. its simple..
but due to historic reasons, sub-continent has failed. it was quite different during mughals. (sorry for blaming it on goray but the damange they have done in this world is phenomenal and they are always discussed , no matter which part of the world consider)

United States was built by English speaking white immigrants.
Not the same as either India or Pakistan.

You mean the one you have LDC quota? BD should first graduate from LDC status to emerging market economy. When you reach that parity, you can start comparing with us and you can brag about the stronk Bengali ethnicity.

Not to mention your major export is garments.

Meanwhile for India it is.

Textiles and food.

I didn't expect this silly reply.from.you. You seem to have more knowledge than this.

USA was not a multi-ethnic country when it grew and become a superpower in the early 20th Century.
It was led by English speaking whites who were immigrants - they accepted to form one Union and were spread out all over the country and so did not act like separate provinces.

Sorry India and Pakistan to a lesser extent will find it almost impossible to even become middle-income, let alone developed countries.

Please see how unitary BD is powering ahead at over 8% a year growth and even with a downturn will still clock growth rates of more than 7% over the next 2 years. If BD become independent in 1947 like India and Pakistan it would have been in another league compared to those countries.

All empirical evidence suggests that multi-ethnic countries sacrifice economic growth to hold themselves together.

Textiles and food.

All changing now dude.

BD is starting to make strides in exports of IT, Pharmaceuticals, Electronics and Shipbuilding now.
Just because it does not export a lot yet in these sectors does not mean that it does not have major industry in these fields as domestic companies dominate the 165 million population home market.

BD already has reached all criteria to graduate out of LDC and just a matter of time before it officially is classified as an "emerging market economy".

And you just need to think at a deeper level before replying.

Just try to see why white immigrants from Europe who went to USA and accepted the English language are not the same as the provinces and states in India/Pakistan all with their different ethnicities.

China ?
Dozens of European states ?
Switzerland?
Belgium?
Canada?

Now compare them to LDC Bangladesh.
It doesn't matter if a nation is multiethnic or homogeneous, the fact that nations can harness these so called "weakness" as a great strength for their nation disputes your notion..
Pluralism and tolerance breeds great prosperity stagnation of a nation happens due to old values not falling down..
Japan is a good example of how a homogeneous society should grow but it is also showing how a homogeneous society should not grow..

Learn from the mistakes of others and dont repeat failures

Dude....

I am using my definition of multi-ethnic country and not anyone else's.

My definition is any country where the most dominant ethnicity is less than 50%.

All those countries you mentioned has the dominant ethnicity at more than 50%.

Both India and Pakistan are doing very badly and multi-ethnicity is mainly to blame. Luckily Pakistan is much better off as the dominant Punjabis are nearly 50% of the total population.

BD has surpassed Pakistan in nominal per capita and it is growing it's per capita at 7% a year compared to just over 1% for Pakistan. Please try to understand why BD finds it so easy to grow and India and Pakistan struggle.
