it's interesting how Chinese Gini has been coming down since 08, 09 most likely due to rising wages but little reports on this.

compared with US:

no signs of US Gini coming down yet.

No one will deny the gap between the poor and the rich.
Here is how I see wealth and its distribution...

Can the millionaire and I have equal access to the microwave oven ? Yes, we can AND we do.

Can the millionaire and I have equal access to the automobile ? Yes, we can AND we do. The millionaire can have a car with more luxuries items like leather seats, gold plated instruments knobs, GPS, etc...etc...But the car itself, as an item in the collective perspective that is 'wealth', is just as available to me as it is to the millionaire or to anyone down the street in my neighborhood.

Can the millionaire and I have equal access to the inground backyard swimming pool ? Yes, we can AND we do. The problem is that I do not make enough money to afford this luxury item, but so what ? The accessibility is there. The vendors do not care who I am, how much money I make, or where I live. As long as I have the money to pay the construction cost, any swimming pool vendor will do business with me. How I get the money is my issue, not the swimming pool vendors' concern and not the millionaire's concern.

Further, the swimming pool is a luxury, not a need. It is the water that is the need. The millionaire and I need water to live, but the distribution of basic wealth in the US is such that when the millionaire fills his swimming pool, that does not take away my share of water to drink and bathe. When is the swimming pool problematic in regards to wealth inequality ? If water is a scarcity and the millionaire paid corrupt city officials to deny others of this life sustaining substance to satisfy his luxury item, then wealth inequality should be an issue.

If I petition the government to deny the millionaire his swimming pool when his possession of it does not affect my life in anyway, then this is my personal moral failing -- petty jealousy. This is the danger line we should not cross, but unfortunately, too many are willing to cross it.

知足常乐,a Chinese idiom, comes from Tao Te Ching by Laozi in the 4th century B.C.
It means one will always feel happy if he/she knows how to be content.

When I traveled in Yunnan Province of China, I chose 5-30 dollar dorm or room. But I wouldn't feel disappointed for some rich tourists who could afford 200 dollar high-end guesthouse. We could all have a good night facing the almighty mountain, and were equally blessed by his holiness the Kawa Karpo as opposed to the supreme decency of luxury.

If for vistas like that, I would rather be bundled up in a tent and cozy sleeping bag than in a 5-star luxury hotel. I would rather feel the cold morning air with my home brewed coffee than warmth in same hotel.

If India threatens USA's interests, just like this move, more will come.
It was not an issue before even India's pollution is even more severe than China.
I was taken aback that New Delhi is even worse than any top 10 cities of air pollution in China.

We must not ostrich ourselves and whenever I go PRC, everyone told me there is unbridgeable wealth divide. There is a serious anti rich sentiment among the people 仇富.

Go google the term and you see incredible number of people hating PRC rich and hope Mao come and kill them.

Because of such mafia style of the rich and peasant hatred, PRC now has the worst rich flight in the whole world. A vote of no confidence.

This is patently false. People in China do not hate the rich and capital flight exists everywhere. On a per capita basis its worse for India and other developing nations.

.
you gotta look at it this way.

in china, even though the rich are getting richer faster then the poor, the poor are non-the-less doing better and better each year because the entire society is getting richer.

in the US, the rich are getting richer while the real wage of the poor are not growing at all. however even the poor are not so poor compared to 3rd world countries.

the problem is if you are a country where the richer are getting richer and the poor are not, AND the poor are really poor, like 3rd world poor.

Building mega cities means building upwards and moving more people off the land actually reduce the need for land.
How many land we need depend on how many mouths we need to feed, no matter they are living in the city or not.

. . .
So far India has used the smartest method. By doing nothing to control it.

On a serious note, some social checks are necessary. Excess of corporate greed is not desirable.

What are those points you think should be taking?
