Ignoring India's protest, US justifies sale of F-16 jets to Pakistan

.
It's important to note that Pakistan never formally asked for these fighters, they were offered by the US as a way to reward Pakistan for Zarb e Azb. This is the main reason for such a low figure. The US wants to encourage Pakistan to take further steps, and I have no doubt that the Punjab operation (which will soon start) is being supported by the US.

. .
Why we are going for just 8 birds? And what difference this tiny figure will make that bhartiies are going total d!ck over it? o_O
We have 18 F-16 CD to complete the squadron we need 8 more.

More on above we are not going to pay a single penny for new jets, every thing arranged via coalition support fund.

People who dont know what is lobby and diplomacy should not talk about them.

Because our lobby and diplomacy we got the nuclear agreement or can get most of the american equipment and some you guys can only dream off inspite of having relation with them for over half a century.

Lobbying is not about winning all the time, you are looking at it from a narrow point of view, you see it as Indians tried stoping it and you are getting it so we lost.thats a narrow way of looking at it.
As you agree 8 planes wont change anything between our two airforces.in all this there was no where your lobby or diplomacy.

Try getting 50 planes and you will see the difference in results.

Well I can feel the hurt here but whatever you are trying wouldn't change the picture at the moment. Indeed it is the narrow mind of India that even try to stop anything that Pak buys but by lobbying (It can be defined best in other words but are inappropriate) rather do a good diplomacy. World doesn't evolves around India mate. We had these birds in past, still we do and we will have them if we want them. All you need to worry about what India lost in this deal. That taxpayers money spent on PR fund to stop such 8 F-16s deal, was precious and not be wasted like this. Save more money, 8n dia will need it in future. After all we do not lobby because it ain't a gentleman thing so indeed we don't know a bit about but India mastered it while having no plausible reason to stop the deals and goes all lobbiying. You got the N thing by lobbying and we have it when the odds were not in favour so you will understand how we do it. Waiting for next deal that India will lobby again and we will go through it or something better.

PAKISTAN should also block RAFAL FIGHTERS JETS deal
and
US WEAPONS sale to India.....
and
Stop US AID to India, and must protest against the deal with India.....
Rather we are discussing only about PAKISTAN.:pakistan::sniper:

WASHINGTON: Notwithstanding India's strong protest, the Obama administration on Saturday justified its move to sell eight F-16 fighters to Pakistan claiming that these jets were "critical" to the country's counter-terrorism operations.

"We support the proposed sale of eight F-16s to Pakistan to assist Pakistan's counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations. Pakistan's current F-16s have proven critical to the success of these operations to date," a State Department official told PTI.

He was responding when referred to the strong objection expressed by India which said it "disagrees" with the rationale presented by the Obama administration.

Earlier in the day, Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar summoned US Ambassador to India Richard Verma in New Delhi to convey India's "disappointment" over America's decision.

"We are disappointed at the decision of the Obama administration to notify the sale of F-16 aircraft to Pakistan. We disagree with their rationale that such arms transfers help to combat terrorism. The record of the last many years in this regard speaks for itself," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

On February 11, the US state department notified the Congress of its decision to sell eight F-16 to Pakistan worth about US $700 million. Now all eyes are on the US Congress where there is stiff opposition to giving such military hardware to Pakistan.

Senator Bob Corker, who is the chairman of the Senate foreign relations committee, has already vowed to block the sale to the country that is acting as a "duplicitous partner" and providing safe havens to terror groups.

"F-16s are the right platform to support Pakistan's counter-terrorism and counterinsurgency operations, and have proven critical to the success of their past operations against militant groups," the state department official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

"These operations reduce the ability of militants to use Pakistani territory as a safe haven for terrorism and a base of support for the insurgency in Afghanistan. These operations are in the national interests of Pakistan, the United States, NATO, and in the interest of the region more broadly," the official said.
"As always, we are committed to working with Congress to deliver security assistance to our partners and allies that furthers US foreign policy interests by building capacity to meet shared security challenges," the official said.

The Obama administration's decision comes at a time when India is engaged in prodding Pakistan to take action against perpetrators of the Pathankot terror attack as well as 26/11 attacks in the wake of revelations made by Pakistani-American convict David Coleman Headley during his testimony before a Mumbai court via video link from the US.
In his testimony, Headley has stated that terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed get financial and military support from Pakistan's spy agency ISI.

India real pain is the smashing of its proxies holed up in FATA and Balochistan where these jets will be used to target...

Indians do not want their proxies to be targeted..one world stage they are crying...Pakistan terrorist..Pakistan.Terrorist..and with an under hand they are propping up terrorist proxies..Indians are full of poison....

.
The reason for India's disappointment is not 8 birds.
It's the painful realization that no,we cannot be successful in making the world see Pakistan throught our lenses. The world will never completely buy India's version of Pakistan which paints it as a terrorist rouge state.
The world needs Pakistan because Pakistan is an important country in the most important geostrategic region on our planet.

.
India... screaming like a banshee whenever her neighbours want to protect themselves.
Be happy we don't start operations against our Dharmic Buddhist Sri Lanka, If only you were Islamic Pakistan, then it will be a whole new game.
Banshee? it is called looking out for your Security.

You Realization Is Narrow to you own Point of view.

Thank god USA is not our neighbour else India will be accused of interferring with the sovereignty of her neighbours.

pakistan is "important" ONLY because it is India's Neighbour.

Without a powerful India, pakistan is as important as somalia. (geo strategic location)

Finally the world has already accepted India's version of pakistan. Its just that its unwilling to act to ensure some form of opposition to India exist in the region.

.
Oh wait India wait...... Another failure????? :D
Better luck next time. :)

lol okay.

U.S's relationship with Pakistan has absolutely nothing to do with India. Pakistan and U.S have been close allies since 1947. The relationship soured because both played each other up for their own interests.
