Sanskrit itself does not have a script but been written in many different scripts till late 19th century. For few centuries Bengali script was used to write sanskrit then it is changed to Hindi script in early 19th century and is continuing till this day..

What is the origin of the Hindi alphabets (which are actually devnagri alphabets) then? Do you mean devnagri alphabets derived from Bengali alphabets? What is the origin of the Bengali alphabets then?

For clearance, sanskrit scripts have devanagri alphabets.

Hindi and Bengali alphabets both have the same root but branched out in 5th or 6th century. There are chronological order of those branches.. I just cant recall those names.....
Sanskrit had nothing to do with those alphabets. But Bengali vocubulary consists 50% of sanskrit word whereas Hindi consists 25%.

Sanskrit even written in Telegu script and some other south indian script as well. So its not only devangari it used.

.
Sanskrit is written mostly in Devanagari.

But it can be written in any script compatible with Devanagari punctuation...including Bangla. And if you think that for some point of time everyone was writing Sanskrit in Bangla script , I can't even think of what to say.

All modern indo-european languages of the sub-continent are derived from Sanskrit...and Devanagari script. Bangla too was derived from Devanagari.

Thats what I know. I did not know Devanagri derived from Bengali.

Max Muller's study of sanskrit shows us that Sanskrit is an indo-European language and all languages except the Dravid and north eastern mongoloid languages, of India derived from Sanskrit.

.
I said "Bangla too was derived from Devanagari.", not otherwise

. . .
I did not say otherwise.

Basically bengali branched out from Prakrits. Not direct decendand of devangari. devangari also branched out from prakrits.

I have to look again though....

.
So...are we looking from an excuse to drift from the topic at hand?
