I've yet to meet a tamilian who gets offended when called an Indian. Albeit I've observed that Tamilians are staunch supporters of Dravidian identity of South Indians. But that's that, I see tamilians as South Indian version of "Punjabis"- loud, fun loving and very street smart.

I've spoken to many Tamils and they are very proud of being Tamil and want their own country. They believe they are very different from Indians.

I think you are being very selective on who you speak to. Maybe you are lying because supposedly you're Tamil and are pro-India so maybe your bias come out. You are one of the pro-India Tamils I guess.

Believe me the Tamils I talk to are very pro-independence. Especially the youth. They don't like other Tamils that are pro-India. I was surprised by their strong anti-India stance. The people I talk to say there is a strong pro-independence feeling among Tamil youth.

I personally don't have a problem with Tamils as I have many friends who are Tamil and they have very different behaviour from Indians. From my experiences with Tamils and Sikhs, they are good people. Not like Indians who are arrogant and boasting machines.

Let me clarify something first, you are indeed right when you say Nilghiri is more Indian than Tamil, infact all of us are period.
Second their is no PRO-Indian tamil as such , there are Indians who speak Tamil.
Kind advice is never talk to any youth like u did above, both to Tamils and Sikh.
