If PAF had accepted the offer of A7 in the 80s

The deal was for a 110 A-7H Corsair Aircraft which obviously fell through because the Viper was a much more modern and capable platform. Other offerings included the F-20 and the A-10 but PAF eventually settled for the F-16 and J-7.
Pictured is the Hellenic Air Force Corsair paintedupainted infin Pakistani markings for demonstrations a couple weeks before it's delivery to Greece.

The US opted not to sell Pakistan the A-7 due to the A-7's strong strike capabilities. Even through the 1980s and 1990s, few aircraft were as good as the A-7 in that role. So in the 1980s, the PAF would've wanted both the F-16 and A-7. You can imagine the sight of the 1990s plan, e.g., 110 A-7s and 110 F-16s.

This ugly plane can't give birth to F16 like beauti
its not about beauty Pakistan want the aircraft that could intercept Russian intruders from Afghanistan , American didn't want to sell their F-15 to Pakistan, so second best option to get then latest F-16, and as for your information fighter jets is/were not designed not on beauty or aesthetics but designed on missions perspective

Its extremely important to look at the weapon package that comes with aircraft. PAF has not got full array of weaponry that F-16 can carry, however maybe PAF didnt ask for it. This could have been the same case with A-7, overlapping.

shukar hai nahi liya ,F16 being multi role and can do any thing was a good decision - the reliance on US

i wish Pakistan insisted on the sale of F 15 at the time.
Americans needed Pakistan desperately to break up USSR.
Our people are never good negotiators. They gave up too early. F 15 is the real fighting machine.

Who told you that?....Not sure if followed the story of the F-16 negotiation correctly.

There were two main reasons

> too expensive to buy and maintain
> No multrole version at that time

The F-16A them selves were partly financed by saudi funding.
