Without going after each other's enemies they cannot be defeated. Taliban (af+pak) and al qaida are close cousins now. You have to coordinate and kill them. Other wise TTP will keep going back to Afghanistan and Af-Taliban will keep going to North Waziristan and come back and attack whenever they like.
You have to coordinate and finish all.

By "America's war", I meant the war on radical Islamists, not the (geopolitical) war in Afghanistan. Radical Islamists are a cancer to any society and have nothing to do with Islam. Incidents like this shooting should make it clear to anyone who is still confused.

Pakistan has limited resources: it cannot take on the TTP and the Afghan Taliban at once. It needs to prioritize and target the elements who pose the greatest threat to Pakistani security, which is the TTP not the Afghan Taliban. This is not a question of good or bad Taliban, but a matter of priority. NATO rarely goes after the TTP, focusing instead on its major foe; Pakistan should focus its energies likewise.
