Becos J-10 is build to surpass F-16, not just match it. With J-10 in service, there is no need for JF-17.

Because the f-16s are already built and waiting, they're also cheaper in the short term. The jf17 would take a long time to build a required amount, and would take significant investment as opposed to just buying second hand f16s.

the jf17 is meant to build Pakistan's domestic capabilities and replace its aging fleet of mirages and f7s.

Also, no one says the jf17 is as good as modern f16s, it's only as good as the original 16s currently, but should improve significantly with block 2 and 3.

CAC invested with PAC, PLAAF was not interested in this project their sole consideration was and is J-10A after PAF stepped in J-10b and provided their knowledge from western sources J-10B became capable to race with western fighters,currently J-10,J-11,J-7,su-27,su-30 and J-8 provide them enough punch to counter their enemies, so their seems no advantage in inducting new platform which cause investment in new infrastructure and logistics field.

Well China has its own J-10B and JF-17 BLOCK II will be quite close to to F-16 BLOCK 52 and China already has several planes they are now focused on J-10 and J-16 and J-15 and 5th Generation Fighter Jets.

JF-17 isnt as good as the F-16 but its still a reliable modern aircraft which fits Pakistan's defense needs. JF-17 is a new plane and it'll take time for it to mature.

It matches very basic F16 versions such as F-16 a, b and some c variants from what I've heard. China has a F-16 like aircraft called the J-10. So they have no need for the JF-17. Jf-17 is bang for the buckt. J-10 is the fully loaded expensive machine, and CHina can afford to have it.
