UP is not like other states though. UP alone has a population of 200 million (1/6th of india's total population), Bihar has a population of 110 million. Other poor states have very high populations as well.

The problem is corrupt leadership in delhi. There are programs which never reach to the people actually. At the same time rise of noida and ghaziabad in UP give a little hope.

Being in Aligarh some 10 years back as a student of Aligarh Muslim University I can recall that there has been development in terms of infra and roadways but still not to the level of rest of India. I come from a very small town in UP which continues to haunt others as just being the resident you wont get a hotel in delhi to stay in.....

i think it is not correct to compare indian states with other countries bcoz industrialization is not even in all states. some states are highly industrialized while others are not. in most cases investors from small states invest in big cities

Its better to keep Financial & Political capitals separate otherwise the constant VIP movement & road blocks will affect the efficiency of the city.

no mumbai is not a another capital officially but in general term we call it financial capital of india.

wow 200million population that's huge man. Pakistan's entire population is 169-170million.
