除了完成一些正在进行的项目之外,中巴经济走廊(CPEC)在头两年的进展令人兴奋,大量实现的早期收获项目(EHP)使CPEC买进了新的阶段,然而目前的进展却显得有些乏味。

2018年将是中国为CPEC未来的发展和规划做准备的一年,这是因为CPEC将进入一个新的阶段 -——从完成能源项目和道路建设的重点转移到工业化和两国长期的财政安排,其影响深远。

具体项目的实施也将从公路转向铁路网络。价值82亿美元的卡拉奇至白沙瓦干线(ML-1)和价值35亿美元的卡拉奇环形铁路将是两个备受关注的核心项目,目前已经达成具体成本和还款的定价协议。

因此,中巴两国必须通过艰难乏味的进程,为今后的实施奠定基础。

在工业领域,如两国能够达成商业协议,开始在三个特别工业/经济区开展实际工作,将极大的推动制造业,创造就业机会和促进出口增长。这三个工业经济区分别是开伯尔 - 普赫图赫瓦(Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)的Rashakai、信德省的Dhabeji以及旁遮普省Faisalabad的M-3。

2018年CPEC项目中最为突出的项目之一是总值20亿美元的橙线公交项目,这是谢里夫政府签署的项目,旁遮普政府最近为这个被诉讼搁置了近一年的项目提供了支持和帮助。

在能源领域,卡西姆港燃煤电站是中巴经济走廊重点项目,也是第一个中外合作(中电建集团与卡塔尔Al-Mirqab公司)投资的大型能源类项目,发电能力为1320兆瓦。2017年11月29日,卡西姆港燃煤电站1号机组正式投产发电。预计到2018年6月将实现商业运营。

由于煤炭开采工作稍有拖延,塔尔煤电项目将无法在2018年完成。信德省50兆瓦的两个风电项目计划于2018年9月投产。中国电力胡布公司的两个660兆瓦机组电力项目进展顺利,其中一个计划将于2018年12月开始运营。

旁遮普省的Qaid-e-Azam太阳能园区预计将增加约400兆瓦发电容量,加上现有的300兆瓦容量,将达到总计700兆瓦的容量。

在瓜达尔港,价值1.5亿美元的东湾高速公路项目预计将在2018年底前完成,同时将尽最大努力在明年内交付价值1.3亿美元的淡水处理设施,每天500万加仑,这对于瓜达尔港是非常重要的。

同样,价值35亿美元的喀喇昆仑高速公路(KKH)一期项目,长为39公里的Havelian-Abbotabad-Mansehra段公路也将于2018年5月完成。

In addition to completing some ongoing projects, the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during the first two years was exciting. A large number of early-earnings projects (EHPs) have enabled CPEC to buy a new phase. However, the current progress is It looks a little boring.

The year 2018 will be China's preparation for the future development and planning of CPEC. This is because CPEC will enter a new stage - from the focus of completing energy projects and road construction to the industrialization and long-term financial arrangements between the two countries. The impact is far-reaching.

The implementation of specific projects will also shift from roads to railway networks. The $8.2 billion Karachi-Peshawar Trunk Line (ML-1) and the $3.5 billion Karachi Circular Railway will be two of the most closely watched core projects, and specific cost and repayment pricing agreements have been reached.

Therefore, China and Pakistan must adopt a difficult and tedious process to lay the foundation for future implementation.



In the industrial sector, if the two countries can reach a commercial agreement and start actual work in the three special industrial/economic zones, it will greatly promote the manufacturing industry, create job opportunities and boost export growth. The three industrial economic zones are Rashakai in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dhabeji in Sindh, and M-3 in Faisalabad, Punjab.

One of the most outstanding projects in the 2018 CPEC project was the $2 billion orange line bus project. This was a project signed by the Sharif government. The Punjab government recently provided support and assistance for this project that had been put on hold for nearly a year. .

In the energy sector, the Qassim coal-fired power station is a key project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and is also the first large-scale energy project invested by Sino-foreign cooperation (CLP and Qatar Al-Mirqab) with a generating capacity of 1,320 MW. . On November 29, 2017, Unit 1 of the coal-fired power station in Qassim Port was formally put into production. It is expected that commercial operations will be realized by June 2018.

Due to a slight delay in coal mining, the Tar coal-fired power project will not be completed by 2018. The 50 MW wind power project in Sindh is scheduled to start production in September 2018. China Power Hubu’s two 660 MW generating units power projects are progressing smoothly, and one of them is planned to begin operation in December 2018.

The Qaid-e-Azam Solar Park in Punjab Province is expected to add about 400 megawatts of power generation capacity, plus the existing 300 megawatts of capacity to reach a total capacity of 700 megawatts.

In Gwadar Port, the $150 million East Bay Expressway project is expected to be completed by the end of 2018 and will do its utmost to deliver $130 million worth of freshwater treatment facilities, 5 million gallons per day for the next year, for Gwadar. Hong Kong is very important.

Similarly, the 3.5-billion-dollar Karakoram Highway (KKH) Phase I project, the 39-kilometer Highway Havelian-Abbotabad-Mansehra, will also be completed in May 2018.



Similarly, transnational communications fiber optic cables will also be completed in 2018.

The works volume crossing Karakoram mountains would be huge,i do not think Inter China /Pakistan railway will happen in the near future,even with China powerful infrastrcture capacity!
Where there is a will there is a way. If China can complete the Tibet /China railway which was even a bigger project then the Karakorum railway shouldn't be a problem.

1) Accelerate Tibet's economic development. Although the Tibetan economy is even better than India's, in China, the economy of Tibet is relatively backward.
2) It is used to rapidly transport troops and transport supplies so that China can respond quickly when a war breaks out between China and India.
3) Satisfy the convenient travel expectations and needs of Tibetan people in Tibet Autonomous Region.
4) Investment in China's domestic regions does not need to consider investment costs.

After all, the China-pakistan Railway is not a Chinese domestic railway. There are many unfavorable factors in terms of ownership, operation rights, income rights and loss sharing as well as demolition compensation and resettlement for local residents.

You know the said road costs 88 chinese workers life and hundreds of pakistani bros wokers life right?
This kind of death should never happen again.
I do hope the said railway can be opened soon but must respect workers life with strict regulations!

Health and safety of our people is of utmost importance. But every employment has risks, do we stop recruiting soldiers because soldiers die in training?

Even karakoram roads r closed every year during winter.

Rail network via karokaram highway will not happen for forceeble future

There is a solution, we can find it ! Even if it means tunneling through the mountains.
