Idols of Hindu temple desecrated in Sindh’s Gharo

Not everything is RAW.

You'd be surprised ... a few thousand Indians on transit flights (KHI airport) are missing ... there was a time when some snakes in higher up bureaucracy ordered visa free transit to Indians. Where do you think they all are now?

But aren't Sindhis in a majority in Sindh?
Unless you've links or you've politician relatives or waderas you will be treated worse than an animal (doesn't matter who you're or what is your religion) this is what PPP has done to sindh.

Yah i suspect this could be ultimately political motivation rather than purely anti-hindu one (though it could be some cross-over or hue that it took to achieve political ends). Just the whole randomness and stealthiness makes me suspect it (I have seen similar hindu on hindu stuff and now even muslim on muslim stuff in rural india based on politics largely).

People actually from Sindh would probably know best.

But people jump to judge on religious basis....many here do so for case of India too when its often much more complicated (because of the sheer oppressive atmosphere political thugs can bring).

@Azlan Haider if there is anything incorrect I mentioned then kindly correct me.

1) 295-B was introduced in 1982, and 295-C in 1986

2) The Federal Shariat Court judgement that declared life imprisonment for Insulting Muhammad (pbuh) repugnant to the Islamic Injunctions and accepted the contention of petitioner Advocate Ismail Bukhari that there must be only death punishment to the contemnor of the Holy Prophet was decided on 30th October, 1990 ... Nawaz Sharif was elected PM on 1st Nov, 1990 and he took office on 6th Nov.

3) 295-A was introduced in 1927 through Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 1927. The maximum punishment under section 295-A was two years. In Pakistan, It was increased to ten years in 1991 (and to a maximum of 3 years in India in 1961)

So it was under Benazir Bhutto rule? Was it inertia from Zia-ul-Haq regime?

I am sorry to hear that.

Benazir's government had been dismissed in August 1990 by the President of Pakistan on charges of misgovernance and corruption. It was under the rule of Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi (Caretaker Prime Minister). Elections were held on 24 Oct 1990 and had resulted in victory of the Islamic Democratic Alliance led by Nawaz Sharif.

No need to because it's the people of sindh responsible for this who again and again vote for PPP because their fathers or grand fathers were jiyalas (party worker of PPP) for them Bhutto never dies and zardari just cash in on this only people of sindh can bring change that can happen only if they don't vote for PPP in 2018.

But why the law needed amendment or addition even during British RULE in subcontinent ?? did you ever ponder upon the reasons?

As you yourself had pointed out, The British were "forced" to introduce 295-A after India faced religious riots when a Hindu author Raj Pal wrote a derogatory book against the Muslim Prophet and there were no hate-speech/blasphemy laws under which Raj Pal could be charged.

But please tell us what forced Zia ul Haq to introduce 295-B and 295-C in 1980's when not even a single incidence/case of desecration of the Holy Qur'an or Insulting of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by any Muslim or Non Muslim had been filed between 1947 - 1979 (the year Zia imposed martial law), and when blasphemy laws were already there ??

@Mugwop See!

Now we have from India under Indian flag @The_Showstopper @takeiteasy as muslim members @ashok321 @padamchen @Bharat Muslim as .......I am not sure though. We have jacob martin, some 47 or 007 as christian member. Many Sikhs are also here and we have Jews also as member. Oh yes, we have gurkha, Buddhist(I can't recall).

@Mugwop

But show me members from Pakistan who belong to Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Jews or any other religion apart from Muslim! Even some are afraid to mention they are Shias let alone other sects.
Do I look afraid? :lol:
Most of us joined here for one reason and that's to discuss military tech not religions.

Police have registered cases of blasphemy and terrorism against unidentified men for smashing idols at a Hindu temple in Gharo Town of Thatta District in the wee hours of Friday. The broken idols were found in a sewerage line the next morning.

Lal Meheshwri, the minority councillor of the Gharo Town Committee, told the BBC Urdu that he had been working late at the temple while preparing it for a monthly religious service which would have been held on Friday.

“Someone seems to have entered the temple between 1:00 am and 5:00 am. When worshippers came in the morning for prayers, the idols were missing. This is the first time that that such a thing has happened in the temple’s history,” he said.

Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister on Minority Affairs Dr Khatto Mal said he has asked the police and the district administration to register a case with the state as the complainant and to include terrorism clauses in the FIR. He said the vandals would be arrested and punished according to the law.

Thatta SSP Fida Hussain Mastoi told the BBC Urdu that the case would be investigated from all aspects, though according to preliminary probe, the footprints found near the temple seem to belong to a young man around the age of 12.

Gharo is situated along the National Highway some 60 kilometres from Karachi. About 2,000 Meheshwri, Dewan and Harijin families, who are mostly Hindus, live here.
