Last time Syria attacked Israel was 40 years ago in 1973. Here what they did since then:

1976 - slaughtered Palestinians together with Christian militias in Tal Zaatar.
1982 - slaughtered own people in Hama.
1983 - slaughtered Palestinians in Tripoli.
1985-1987 - slaughtered Palestinians in Lebanon camps together with their Amal militia.
1991 - together with US went to war at Iraq.
2011-... - slaughter own population.

They didn't o to war with Iraq, they just wanted to drive them out from Kuwait.
