Idea no.3: IT and other Tech solutions for Pakistan

.
I will post only non essential/ relevant though material here, for the last decade or so I moved mainly from PCs to the realm of micro controllers, where the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. FPGA/CPLD/verilog/c/c++/altium designer/EAGLE/MCU/Atmel/Texas Instruments/ you name it and I have explored them. Every electronics item in our household has some type of micro controller in it, our cards have dozens of them, heck they may even be kill switches. So when I say cyber-security in all honesty hair on my scalp rise up when I think about how easy it is to send an entire nation back to stone age with a bit of imagination and patience. Our enemies and our friendly enemies have both along resources and our stupidly trusting attitude.

I am reading it and this post by MUSTAKSHAF, is the end of the summary.....the responsible sitting at top don't know yet the gravity of the situation. when they realize it ...it would be the first step achieved in cyber security game.

I know there are ex-servicemen here(i'll limit myself up to this) but these are the guys who might put a word in the right ears, I'll appreciate if the mods too do share our fears with the right people. I do not think hacking of pakistani banks, stock exchange (the financial sector) are mere coincidences, what is happening in the actual stock market is really bad, a coordinated short selling is going on for months people are losing billions and to curtail loses they are selling their shares.

I was trying to make the discussion more interesting interactive and more attractive ....open for contribution of ideas is catchy ;)

how does that work?

you mean Build a modern Noah model town?

concept of Smart Towns is old but can be undertaken in Pakistan which still has plenty of liveable land.

we need water.

for that i have no ideas how this thread goes but my solution is war with india
You "adopt a village" and donate to fix some part of it....its crowd funded thing so you arent alone....

We have adopt a school programs @nahtanbob

I have tons of ideas but at 19 I am simply to young to execute any of them. But in ten years time I hope to have a few top class schools with free education for poor and admission on merit only. I have a vision to revolutionise the energy sector with LED techology and save billions of dollars. Also working on a concept of circular underground wind energy tunnels to generate power and electricity.
I also want to have an animal rescue and retirement home for old, sick, abandoned and abused pets and animals. And I got many more than this.
Call me a day dreamer but you will remember my name in 10-20 years time and say "Hey I know this kid" 8-)

There are some unis that have started this...I am not sure of the quality but some of the prof running the courses are educated from USA....SO I am oping next generation would be know something good?
This is an emerging field, it's like software engineering in 90s..

If Pakistan misses this opportunity, other regional countries will again take it and leave us behind..

Adopt a village would be a situation where a bunch of people with some money and education work with villagers to improve their lives

the idea is to train the villagers to manage their own lives better

some areas where villagers could be helped
technical help for farming
micro-credit
housing
water supply/sewage

adopt a school is better than adopt a village
it is more specific. there is less chance of picking a fight with anyone

Pakistan do need central servers and local data center to store all from cnic to local online buying and selling in data logs to data preparation and analysis, why should outsider have our data to exploit we should also have local search engine/social media like china have Wechat.

That's the spirit!

Dreaming is not harmful...IF you make it goals...IT is harmful when the ONLY thing you do is dream and not work towards it!
Absolutely, we need dreams and visions and the determination to make them true.
I was 11 when I first heard the term "butterfly effect". Eversince I have been thinking of ways to put the concept in a mechanised formula and finally came up with a concept and discussed it with my professor. He is very interested and in a few years time I hope to make enough progress to use it for my thesis and build it. Can't go into details yet but if it works out we will have a pioneering breakthrough in the field of wind energy. May Allah guide me through this Amen.

Go into more detail. 19 is not young. It's the perfect age to start planning. You'll be 29 in the bat of an eye, trust me, make every moment count bro.

Ok, this is also a bit far fetched for the moment but currently I'm professionally a software Tester. I hope to start contracting soon and in 10 or do years time, I'd like to setup a company in the UK which wins testing contracts at below market rates and has the execution done by specialists in Pakistan.

I'd also like to do the same for my brothers accounting firm (in a few years time). Have Acca qualified guys doing accounts in Pakistan for UK based clients.

I also have family members and a lot of friends who are pharmacists. I'd love to try and get them to invest in a factory in AJK making generic medication.

An idea out of the blue. Why don't our TV channels produce documentaries? I have never seen a Pakistani documentary. When I say documentary, I don't mean series like Mahaaz. I mean national geographic type. Highly detailed, highly educational.

Using your education background and experience HOW CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE TO PAKISTAN?

So after a series of surveys...I would like to hear from Pakistanis how they can contribute to Pakistan?!

There was a saying by Noor Jahan....

Something along the lines:
"Not what Pakistan can do for me but what I can do for Pakistan?!"

So we all know Pakistan isnt doing well...So, I want to hear your ideas ....

If you were given a free hand, What can you do for Pakistan AND DESCRIBE HOW?!

Make sure it coincides with your profession / experience!

Although it is hypothetical...But I guess I am just interested in knowing how our Pakistanis here can help?!

NEW IDEAS! Not same discussed ideas!
I tried. Couldn't find job. Left country. Now sending money on monthly basis.

. .
As the saying goes....try and try again!

Whats your profession again? Maybe you can do something from outside which you couldnt do from inside?!
Embedded electronics engineer/IC designer.
The teacher who taught me this subject has also left the country. :(

BTW, there are more experienced guys than me, still serving in Pakistan. But again, when basic things are not in place, people tend to migrate.
