I will quit politics, party chairmanship if disqualified: Imran Khan

I'm not an avid supporter of N League nor PTI although I have a tendency to hate those who've looted our country and fled to London.

But, I think that Imran Khan should have appeared in court, notices were issued asking him to appear in court several times but he did'nt show up.If he is innocent(perhaps he is) , he should have fearlessly appeared in court. Please correct me if there was a reason that he didnt appear....

Im any case though, he deserves all due appreciation for his role in bringing the ex Crime Prime minister to justice.

However, the pattern in which events are unfolding seem to be a bit suspicious, after years -decades,in fact- of political participation the sharif family was caught and kicked out of the game , now it is Imran Khan's turn, perhaps there really is a "Third Umpire" at play behind the scenes.no?

.
Considering his biggest role for accountability, albeit selective accountability, which he dragged Nawaz Sharif to the court is now avoiding the court? Am i missing something which is keeping Imran Khan on back foot now?

I applaud the concept of accountability, and since he started that movement, therefore it is only fair if he leads by example. Otherwise, it will look as many already suspected which puts PMLN in good book.

This is not the fault of third umpire but those who believed in them thinking I am so special it will be different with me this time, and he wont be the last fool to believe in third umpire. If he had an ounce of intelligence he would have looked at the history and make the right decision. Pakistan doesnt need a decent/honest man who screws up at every turn and take the road taken before with obvious results.

Extremely calculated statement; he knows very well that whatever degree of legitimacy is in the current political landscape is due to him being part of it.

Subtract him and experience the fallout - they won't even attempt to arrest him let alone disqualify him and bring the almost crippled system to absolute halt.

Ironic isn't it ... some sort of survival of Nawaz and Zardari depends on IK remaining qualified ... oh, what a headache for the CJ ...

He should hear in front of the court. If he is disqualified he should quit office and the party chairmanship, even if he thinks the decision is wrong. He can appeal it as a private citizen.

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan vowed on Thursday that he would bid farewell to politics if he is disqualified by the Supreme Court in a case pending before it.
In an interview to a private television channel, the PTI supremo expressed that they (PML -N) sought his disqualification either through the Supreme Court or the Election Commission adding that even anti-terrorism courts were after him.

Regarding the Pakistan’s foreign policy, he stated that Khawaja Asif was too incompetent to hold the office of the foreign ministry.

In response to a query about electricity and gas crisis, the cricketer-turned-politician said that fossil fuels were being charged with tax, time and again due to the ‘oppressive policies of Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar’.

It is relevant to mention that the Election Commission of Pakistan issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Imran Khan in the contempt of court case.

Moreover, the Supreme Court recently wrapped up hearings on a petition filed by PML-N leader seeking the disqualification of Imran Khan for not declaring assets.

The top court would announce the verdict in Imran Khan’s disqualification case after completing the proceedings regarding PTI’s central leader Jahangir Tareen’s disqualification case.
