Average Urdu speaker does not sound 'bhaiya', that word is barely used anymore, Karachi is a big city and accent vary a lot depending on the area and also class, rich people,middle class people and poor people all sound different from each other; somebody from DHA or Clifton won't sound same as somebody from Lyari or Keamari and somebody from there won't sound the same as somebody Gulshan or Saddar who in turn won't sound the same as somebody from the Federal B areas, you can't just generalize.

I grew up in Lahore before coming here, and even in Lahore people have different accents depending on class, an elite burger chic from model town won't sound same as somebody from gawalmandi or or even Iqbal town

That actor is not some poor uneducated but "actor". Plus punjabi spoken in rural areas and urban is 100% same. So I though same will be case in Karachi where everyone is urban and speak urdu.

Clifton and DHA areas are not representives of native urdu speakers, lots of other ethnic groups live in these areas. IK, Sheikh Rasheed, Shan, Hamza Ali etc all speak with punjabi accent, so you say they speak with perfect accent then it means this is pretty normal in punjab cities. Zaid Hamid does not speak with punjabi accent but he also doesn't speak like native urdu speakers who have bhojpuri accent.

You will notice these people speak urdu with bhojpuri accent.

Navjot speaks Hindi without any Punjabi accent; you can check on extra innings on set max.What I mean to say was Indian Punjabis speak much better Hindustani than Pakistani punjabis

The only Indian who can speak urdu properly is bollywood song writer Gulzar, who is sikh born in Pakistan. He speak urdu without any Indian influence and sound just like Pakistanis.

To be honest I don't like labelling one's accent as inferior and others as superior. Every foreign language gets influenced by the native tongue of its speakers; the only thing to consider is whether everyone who knows that language is able to comprehend what the person is speaking. What we consider standard also changes from time to time.I find American accent very unsophisticated and hard to comprehend;for me London accent is smooth and easy to follow;but to an american the vice versa may be true.For him american accent(actually even America has many accents but I am talking about the accent which is spoken in Hollywood movies and American media) may sound very refined and pleasant.So,this talk of standard Urdu accent is not right.Anyway I got what you are trying to say ;even if we go by your standard Pakistani standard isn't anywhere near how an eduacted Urdu speaker speaks in India.

Musharaf speak with little bhojpuri accent not punjabi, seem like you have no idea about what you are talking about. Reason is musharaf doesn't speak punjabi. We know how Indians speak. The only Indian who I ever seen who could speak urdu like Pakistanis is Gulzar.

Gulzar have clear urdu accent without any bhojpuri influence.

Only we can detect if someone is speaking with punjabi accent or not. Zaid Hamid has lived in punjab all his life but doesn't speak with bhojpuri or punjabi accent. I don't need to go anywhere to know how certain people speak.

Watch Owaisi speak, clear hindustani or what ever accent/influence and not urdu.

Where i said that no language borrows and don't evolve? Point was Urdu is created by borrowing every things from here and there and it's fact unless you say that Urdu is merely evolved version of Khariboli/Hindustani not a new language all together.

Languages are not like puzzles that would emerge out of nowhere as a result of combining chunks from here and there. Just think about it for a while. Urdu has evolved and compared to other languages, much faster for it evolved in a time when there was a need of a language that could be understood by many. Very few languages would have produced high quality poetry and prose in mere 200 years of their birth as Urdu did.

In the second video about drugs, there is no mention of the ethnicity of the people; karachi is such a large city with so many people and many of our charsis are makranis/balochis,rural sindhis,afghans and local muhajirs, it's a mix and makranis and sindhis also have such accents.

Posting video of drug addicts isn't a fair representation, they sound like charsis, and no educated middle class urdu speaking kid sounds like those charsi/homeless kids

The anchor, Nida Yasir is also a native Urdu speaker, and she sounds like the average urdu speaking aunty in Karachi, except for some in certain ghettoes, she doesn't sound that indian to me.

It's not about being uneducated or educated, the accent differences vary across class lines in karachi; there are many educated people in north parts of karachi with post-grad degrees but still retain that MQM-esque accent.

DHA and Clifton are representative of native Urdu speakers who live here and are the single largest group, different ethnic groups live here but they live all over karachi too, heck more non-urdu speakers live outside dha/clifton than in here, cause not everybody can afford to live here, we also have a punjabi member here who also lives in the MQM stronghold of the FB areas and Shahid Afridi and Haroon Rasheed are non mohajirs living in Gulshan


Imran Khan and Sheikh Rasheed have Punjabi accents much like my father but Rasheed's is much thicker, and Shaan and Hamza Abbasi have more neutral accents, which is very common in Lahore,Fsbd and Isloo/Pindi

I believe Zaid Hamid claims to be orignally from Delhi like a lot of karachiites; Bhojpuri accent is found only among a minority and is mocked in karachi too, there are different accents here; Delhi/Lucknow people speak much better urdu than Biharis and Hyderabadis, but the latter accents are dying now.

Bhojpuri accent is spoken by a minority concentrated in certain areas and it's not "native urdu acccent" at all, native urdu accents is what Zaid Hamid,Fawad Khan or Mohsin Hasan Khan speaks with

Bhojpuri is what Amir Khan spoke in the movie 'PK' and i have yet to meet a Karachiite that speaks like that.

There are many native Urdu speakers who have weird accents such as Aamir Liquat,Altaf Hussain,Omar Shareef,MQM members and Sarfaraz Ahmed but none of those accents are "Bhojpuri" by any measure

People still text in Roman Urdu, so it has it's place somewhere.

Zaid Hamid is a fake Syed. Syed is not part of his father’s name. « Zaid Hamid Exposition

They take it very lightly by claiming Syed origin when they are not......if i am not wrong such people will be punished by Allah
