Hundreds of Chinese and Bangladeshi labourers in deadly clashes at Beijing-backed power plant near D

these workers are destroying china's soft power image . people early think Chinese are good kind honest people .
Maybe in poor third world countries this is the case but no one in the West thinks like that. In fact, Chinese are well-known for being cold, rational and egoist. I'm not saying Chinese are terrible people but just ask any American or European. They have a bad image as a fellow human being.

No, there is no such a need. People just need to interact. Through both friendly exchange and unfriendly conflict, people will know each other better. That is the only education needed. Don't be encouraged by friendly exchanges and don't be discouraged by unfriendly ones. People just need to continue interacting. From what I can see, demagogues are the only enemy here.
Nope, cause the Chinese are ignorant and need to respect the host country

Give where credit is due - and that is - the way US, UK, Australia are multi-cultural and they way they have integrated various nationalities is absolutely fantastic! US is in a league of its own, and that is why it is a Super Power because US knows how to deal with countless cultures, peoples and religions. Whereas on the other hand, China don't even come close and that is why there is conflict where the Chinese go because they have ZERO EXPERIENCE of dealing with other nationalities and cultures. If China wants to be a superpower then it needs to think and act like a Superpower and unfortunately CHina is not doing this at all.

If China does not change, it is only a matter of time when its soft power would vanish very quickly.

You see. That is the kind of attitude that prevents people from interacting. Too many people want other people to change and too few change themselves. All faults must be due to the other people.

Not surprised really with these clashes. Both sides need to cool it. Basically the clash of cultures.
Definitely. Even within the same cultures, people brawl, let alone between two different cultures. Let police and courts deal with it according to the law and move on.

I think what he was trying to say is that when you go to someone else's country, it is responsibility of the Visitors to learn the cultural background and sensitivities of the host nation, and not the other way around. And he is right. The onus is on the visitors, not the host country.

One chinese also dead so I think both sides have played their part in violence .China should improve labor laws to avoid such incidents in future

That is sensible for sensible people but requiring that for everybody is just another source of conflict. What next? Require every visitor to pass some history and culture exam? Conflict happens and let law deal with it.

I doubt China's what so called One Belt One Road Initiative.

The leadership in China think they are helping the developing countries to develop faster which is win-win for many people.

but in the western world some people try to paint this as Chinese colonization, to exploit the poor country etc, indeed they want to sabotage this Initiative.

The western media wage the propaganda war against China on this issue. and some of developing people are buying this propaganda, making it difficult to carry on.

If by doing it China didn't gain much but damaging its reputation, Why china acting stupid? China should stop it, instead spent more time and effort to develop itself.

Throughout the history , the Chinese have been isolationist and a closed state , they were and are averse to external influence , addition to this is their communist ideology which has made them to believe that Chinese state and culture is utopian and superior to any other state and culture , so clash of cultures is eminent
Nevertheless the Chinese culture is quite beautiful and rich in its own way but the problem is of belief

China companies bidding for overseas project must accept that
(i) host countries always want to employ only local labour except a few key specialist from China.
(ii) As a result of (i) above Chinese companies should not send their skilled master craftmen to host countries.
(iii) Due to (ii) above, China should not expect fast project completion time as normally done in China.
(iv) Due to higher cost of training unskilled labour and their inefficiency and local work culture, higher cost must be considered when bidding for a foreign project. China Speed should not be applied in foreign projects.
(v) As a result of all above, please do not treat local workers in foreign countries as at same level as the hard working and skillfulness of Chinese workers, and avoid bidding at the same low contract value as in China. Clash of cultures is inevitable and cost of finishing a project will be very much higher than in China.

People don't live forever and their is a timeline and budget to complete a project. Having been sent to less developed countries to manage projects I know the lack of capabilities of locals.

That's how it should be, if foreigners go to other countries then they should respect the host country's culture and way of life.
