What's new

How would Pakistanis feel if we did the same in their time of crises, asks Saudi Envoy

I know Saudi's stand. All they've expressed is verbal support but even now it's toned down next to nothing. All they've given is words in action they don't really care. In practise they have no issues with India

What a stupid argument, isn't Pakistan also doing same? Lip Service in UN for resolution of Kashmir, what if KSA is backing us up in UN? Also how about if i put images of Pakistani and Indian heads shaking hands? It doesn't make Pakistan supporting India for Kashmir cause.

Most of the IB is a political organization. the IB has militant supporters.

I am not supporting SiSi. With Saudi help SiSi has crushed the Islamic Brotherhood.
With the help of Saudies??Only saudies???R u not missing American role in installing a dictator like Sisi??

.
Why the blackmail?

Pakistan has already declared full military umbrella to protect Saudi border. Are Pakistan asking for troops to go into Afghanistan?

I don't understand this logic. You can't expect another nation to just lead an invasion into a random country.

.
However, diplomatic sources suggest that Pakistan needs to do more to appease Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom feels let down by Islamabad.
They can have the tinday bros as damage control
Sources revealed that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who led a high-level delegation soon after the Parliamentary resolution to Riyadh, was confronted by Saudi authorities over Pakistan’s reluctance to join the alliance.

The Saudis told the Punjab chief minister that they were not expecting the government to take the issue to the Parliament since they needed ‘urgent’ help from Pakistan.
Why? Is the parliament a puppet parliament like in Saudi? Or were the Saudis collecting by asking the tinday to pay up for eating in the palace when they were in exile?

Pakistan should support Saudi Arabia unconditionally. They have helped us many times. Pakistan does not have too many friends and loosing all GCC Countries in this diplomatic screw up is a strategic loss for Pakistan.
When did they come to our aid when we started cleaning our house'? Where were they in December 2014? Where are they over Kashmir?

No one is entitled to something you earn it....Something Saudi has not learn since forever

Saudi crises:

Although Saudi Arabia is the Arab country putting the most effort into raising awareness of the threat of the Islamic State (ISIS) and fighting the group, Saudi citizens are the most responsive to joining ISIS, as indicated by new semi-official statistics, which show that the number of Saudi fighters in ISIS reached 7,000.

Foreign fighters joining ISIS:

  • Saudis: 7,000 (from 15000)
  • Tunisians: 5,000
  • Jordanians: 2,500
The statistics also show that the number of foreign fighters joining ISIS' ranks have been rapidly growing after the organisation took control of Mosul, Ar-Raqqah, and Deir ez-Zor, after taking over most of Anbar and Salahuddin. It also suggests that the number of foreign ISIS fighters has reached over 15,000 from all over the Muslim world, as well as many European countries, noting that the true number of fighters is well over 15,000.

According to the American website Daily Paul, which specialises in security affairs, the second highest number of non-Syrian or Iraqi ISIS fighters come from Tunisia, which are estimated at 5,000 fighters, followed by Jordan, with 2,500 fighters. Meanwhile, Palestinian-Israelis amount to about "20 fighters."

Although most Western statistics confirm that the Saudi fighters make up the largest share of foreign fighters, Saudi Arabia considers this to be a false exaggeration aimed to "distort the image of Saudi Arabia and label its citizens as terrorists," according to Abdul Moneim Al-Mushawwah, the director of the Sakina Campaign, concerned with combatting extremist and violent ideology in Saudi Arabia. In his statement to Al-Arabiya net, he added: "Yes there are Saudi fighters that have joined the ranks of ISIS, just as there are fighters from most other countries, but the Saudis make up the least number of fighters."

A previous study showed that no less than 24 of every 26 ISIS membersare from foreign countries. The study published by Long War says that ISIS fighters come from Africa, Asia, Europe, America, Tunisia, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Chechnya, France, Germany and the US. Statistics show that 65 per centof the foreign fighters are Saudi, 20 per cent are Libyan and Tunisian and 15 per cent are from various other nationalities, and that 44 per cent of ISIS' causalities are Saudi fighters.

Total number
In recent estimations published by the CIA, there are between 20,000 and 31,500 ISIS fighters in Iraq and Syria.

CIA spokesman Ryan Trapani said that these estimations are based on a review of intelligence reports from May to August 2014.

Trapani attributed the increase of 10,000 fighters to the organisation's stronger recruitment since June following battlefield successes and the group's declaration of a caliphate.

The Saudis need to grow some balls and stop crying like little kids. The Saudi criticism is getting tiring. The Saudis aren't fighting a war, but merely taking out militias. God forbid if the Saudis actually have to fight a war. What will these people do?

No, we are not going to participate in bloodshed in which collateral damage is certain. We don't want to be held accountable by the people of Yemen. Besides, the Saudis have enough Arab allies to take care of the problem.

There is no crisis in KSA, we already have given commitment to defend them.

The Saudis are somehow not getting the message.

I admit the picture was a weak argument but Pakistan actually does restrict trade with India. Sometimes some rules are relaxed but you can always sense the tension. Why do Pakistan and India continue to view each other as a threat? It's because Kashmir is still unresolved. If Kashmir were resolved Pakistan and India relations would normalize and perhaps demilitarize. But you can see a physical military build up and contribution today, where Pakistan and India still risk the lives of their soldiers in Himalayan Mountains, where deaths continue just because of the harsh environment till this day.

Why haven't I heard about Saudi troops posted alongside Pakistani troops in the Himalayan mountains?

Pakistani boarder under Saudi troops.. another weak arguments. What I see KSA helping Pakistan against India the way they can. They give us aid. Our Nukes were mainly sponcered by them which made Pakistan in breakable. They always support Kashmir cause on Pakistani stand. I never expect KSA can help us in military wise, since they even need our help to protect even their inside small threats.

the Saudis know Pakistan would stand by them 100% if their territorial integrity came under threat......we've had this agreement in place ever since those rag-tag terrorists laid siege to Islam's holiest site in 1979

but this conflict with the houthis presents no existential threat to Saudi Arabia.....it can all end when Saudi and Iran stop playing their immature games and UNITE. Muslims should always be united; political Islam and militant factions should not be used to divide Muslims

They have money which they shared when you begged. You have military power which you didn't. Didn't return the favor instead asking them to grow the balls. I don't know why it is so difficult for pakis to comprehend. Expect Saudis to keep funding pakis sply madarsas.

You Indians are so bloody ignorant. Who said Pakistan begged for money? It was a loan and no Pakistan did not beg. Loans can be acquired from various sources. We don't even know the terms on which the loan was provided. Get your facts right and stop ranting like an Indian.

Saudi Arabia loans Pakistan $1.5 billion to shore up economy

On a different note, we are still waiting for India to help its Saudi king friend in need... Send your ground troops and help the king. Words are cheap.

Ungrateful folks Pakistanis, is all I can say. You don't help a friend when you feel like. You help when he asks for it.
