It surprises me that some people like Md Akmal don't realize that Bengalis used to be discriminated. Why did some senior Bengali officers like Osmani and Zia chose to fight? The reasons were obvious.

Not only are 20 times bigger than them in all spheres as armed forces, economy, land area etc but are also two decades ahead of them in technology. Even if this is not enough, one look at Bangladeshi map should suffice. Not only do we surround them but they have no friends in their neighborhood except us.
They must be atleast smart enough to realize that they cannot survive a war with India.
So why harbour a wet dream of supporting insurgencies in India.

I have stated some of the implications of the then military of Pakistan where Bengali officers served. Most of us can agree that the creation of Bangladesh was inevitable under those circumstances.

I don't know about the Awami League. All I know is that they have a very ****** history. Various newspaper articles about the Mujib era are literally packed with lies. It is very shameful and dishonorable that some senior people manipulate history for their own benefit.

The only good thing is that terrorists are being dealt with properly, but then RAB was created during the previous BNP administration. They are just doing their job.

Regarding the AL's view of religion, it is confusing. I mean, they claim to be secularists, and yet they didn't establish diplomatic relations with Israel even after Israel offered establishing diplomatic relations! Confusing! The AL appears to be a very poorly organized party, along with a poor vision. And frankly, I am indifferent to religion since it was never a threat to Bangladesh in anyway.

The only reason for them going strong now is because they have some powerful backers. But then, the BNP coming back to power is not impossible or anything. It might be likely in the next elections seeing how unpopular the AL currently is. They have failed on many fronts already. Most of ministers are a bunch of money making wackjobs anyways. They don't do their jobs as per job description.

But then, it is fair to say the BNP isn't without faults either. Those two women have wrecked serious havoc in Bangladeshi politics over the years. Although, the AL tends to be more manipulative. But overall, both the parties are mostly filled with dumbasses. As long as those two netris are around, not much would progress.

It wasn't in respect to the discussion. But regarding the article, it has proven facts and some tall claims at the same time.

Nobody in Bangladesh is going into a military confrontation with India. But if you do threaten our sovereignty for whatever reason, we'll respond accordingly.
