I have answered this in a past thread. The blame can be put squarely on India's education system. For the last three decades or so, they have been run by officious bureaucrats hobnobbing with corrupt communal politicians. They have completely destroyed the education system in the country except for private schools and colleges. The quality of government teachers and professors is very low now because they really pay them starvation wages. It wasn't so bad in the '90s when I had finished my schooling in India. In my classrooms, we had very excellent teachers, all of them must be retired by now. The next generation just didn't have the luxury to develop any potential. I often share these views with Indian posters on Defence.pk, many refuse to believe me.

Nowadays they are stifling independent minds of schoolchildren in every way possible as part of a political agenda to dumbify them. Too much focus on "technical education" at the expense of arts, humanities, geography, literature, ethic. All of that leads to stunted brain growth.
