Actually his question is relevant to the OP. If a religion says we will conquer another country (Ghazwa E Hind as per Pakistanis), then that is religious violence straight away.

So tell the OP how will you get over this genuine issue? By throwing in jail people in pakistan who talk of ghazwa e hind, i.e. religious violence or by throwing in jail people who criticize such religious imperialism?

Is it possible in Islam to reform itself without changing the contents of kuran and hadith which are the back bone of Islam?

Christianity is reformed, nobody cares for old testament....its about BIBLE all the way...

Islam has reformed the Muslims which Christianity and other religions failed to do to the majority of their followers.
So how can one reform something that has reformed him when it is bigger and higher than him and his capacities !?
We do agree on ' science will pave the way ' as in the golden ages of Islam, since the main thing God asks us Muslims and humans to do -apart from simple things as prayers and good deeds ... and so on - is to pursue science, and anyone with basic knowledge of Islam will confirm it.
In a Surat of the Koran, God says that no one "Fears" him( by astonishment and awe ) more than the scientists (by the deep knowledge and understanding -they acquire- of the laws governing the universe, their mathematical precisions and their omnipresence everywhere), hence the persistent emphasis on sciences in Islam, for men and women, young and old and for life as an individual and social endeavour called the principle of Ijtihad .

You try to dismiss the issue. 180 million do not have to believe ghazwa e hind for it to lead to violence right? Even a minority for example in the case of Lashkar E Taiba - (abt 27 to 42% support it) is enough to lead to religious violence. There are pakistani posters on this very thread who believe the religious significance of Ghazwa E Hind.

In India religious violence happens too, but it does not have religious sanction hence its a law and order problem for us, as noone can show religious prophecies and books etc and justify it.

Its a f-ed up world we live in...

Even though mankind has made alot of progress, alot of things are still rotten as hell.
Religion is all about peace, love, respect, so many values..

Yet humanity uses religion as tool to destroy or oppress one another.

The ones to burn in hell are the ones who indeed have used religion to justify their own agenda's.
The ones who desire peace and nothing else, I believe, shall be the ones who will be rewarded.

All you can do is be a good man/woman, raise your children with good standards and teach them family values and RESPECT.
Teach them that hate, and especially blind hate is dangerous, and that the level headed and sensible people are the ones who always THINK before they ACT.

Nobody trusts eachother, if trust was in place, no nation on earth would pursue total dominance or influence power.
I guess it's in our nature to either conquer or get conquered...

I think we live in an era where all these differences between mankind are as highlighted as ever, and in the future, all these differences will fade away and mankind will have learnt from their mistakes.
