From what i can gather from this piece is that the writer is getting married to non muslim (they guy she is getting married to may well be a muslim, but his son isn't from this article)
I therefore put this question to her, how did she meet her husband to be? Was she dating (is this unislamic etc)
Being a british muslim, i don't think she can go on about muslims behaviour. She says its all about integration, integration to what extent, go to pubs/clubs etc. If so she is a hypocrite herself calling herself a muslim.
I put it to her, question your own behaviour and beliefs first women before considering others.
Sorry for getting personal, but I think you are the kind she was warning about. When in western country, you are questioning a lady's right to date and marry a guy of his choice... You are again questioning her faith which is supposedly a matter between her and god. Making judgement about her character if she goes to clubs. Does islam not prohibit you from judging others...
If a person is abroad and wishes to settle There, you can not always frown on their culture and values and expect to be accepted. Why this need to seek answers always from religion and not from common sense?
specially when in an adopted nation - all the author wanted to say was - dont wear you religion on sleeves and try to force your cultural values on the established ones. In short - do in rome as romans do.
