A couple of days ago, SAA and the regime launched a huge offensive on Idlib, the last rebel stronghold.

This offensive does not only contradict the Astana process but has already sent 100.000s of refugees towards the Turkish border. Turkey, which maintains several bases in the area, has been silent so far, despite its soldier coming under SAA fire.

Why is Turkey so passive? If Assad wins the Idlib battle, he will focus on supporting the YPG in Tel Rifaat and East of the Euphrates in order to make Turkey bleed.

IMO, Turkey should respond to this aggression with liberating Tel Rifaat (killing SAA soldiers if required) and support the rebels in Idlib with artillery fire and MANPADS (only to Turkmen rebels who can be trusted).

Screw Russia and the mass murderer - stand for justice and freedom!

YPG and SDF has established itself in the north of Syria as a result of Turkish interference in Syria and support of rebels. Turkey basically shot itself in the foot by supporting rebels. those incompetent baboons/religious fanatics called FSA, HTS, Ahrar al sham etc could not get the job done and were smashed around, blown to oblivion by russian air power. but what happened is that Kurds took advantage by playing goody good with both Russia and USA and now the 70 percent of the syrian northern border is in SDF/YPG hands. supporting rebels is a lost cause, Turkey should understnd that. better Syrian Gov then Kurds at its border.

Dude every sane person will agree with you but Tayyip and his worshipper akpeans.
At the begining of Syrian war me and people who have strong sense of future said that this Syria war is a lie to create second terror corridor for Türkiye along the syrian border. The aim was creating second canton of kurdistan. We have said this billion times but Tayyip and his worshippers didn't listen to us.
8 years after we all know that we were right about it. Now thanks to Tayyip pkk has a state under protection of USA and EU. We said that don't be enemy of Assad coz he is still in power and will be as long as Russia and Iran beside of him. The only way to stop pkk in Syria was/is being with Assad instead of USA, EU, Saudi and UAE. But he chose USA. He is fooled by all of 'em.
How pity is that after all he just said that Obama fooled me and walked away from the consequences.
Well Obama was one of the other 2 dozens of people who fooled Tayyip. So if you have a leader who can be fooled by a kindergarten kid, your country will be like this.

you are so right.
we have a special place for Turkey in our hearts but i dont know how Turkey got itself in this situation. lets hope for the best in future. it is somewhat the same terror corridor which we here are facing from our western border. look at the similarity, the presence of US forces in both these terror corridors are bolstering the ranks of anti Pakistan and anti Turkish elements. The amount and type of weaponry US is providing to Kurds is alarming.

US and its allies are taking out country after country in the name of democracy, human rights and freedom. Iraq , Afghanistan, Libya, Syria its all the same story. Turkey and Pakistan needs to tread carefully from here on.

The Astana agreement was if anything buying time, but since all the FSA forces dont stand a chance against HTS it failed and what we will see now is Idlib going back under government control. We should get our troops out and control the flow of the refugees to Afrin and Northern Aleppo.

. .
Not. Those areas are controlled by HTS, a recognized terrorist organisation by Turkey, USA and Syria alike. They refused to submit and join the National Syrian Army. The Astana agreement dictates that we neutralize terrorist entities. We tried to get them join the NSA by disarming and coordination indepedently but they refused. They deserve to get eradicated and i dont think we should protect these types of groups.

I dont think anyone would be stupid enough to the think the Astana agreements was permanent. From the day the ink on that agreement was written down everybody knew it was merely a temporarly solution. But the HTS couldnt appreciate how we temporarly safed them from getting whiped out, all for the sole reason we could tried to leash and control them. They refused, so they die. Simple.

It's just a smaller version repeat of 2014-2015 YPG taking northern Syria from IS, now different actors where Turkey watches whilst a terror organisation (HTS/Nusra) is operating, SAA will eventually go in on a larger scale and locals there will favor the SAA over HTS.

The Afghan thread creator should stick to Afghoonestan instead. The bigger issue is the rise of Kurds, they need to be put in their place every now and then and the time has come again. It's wrong that they have autonomy in Iraq and the same de-facto in Syria, all these politicians are weak and wasting billions of dollars.

During the good days of the early 90's they had nothing, no wonder Kurds worship America.

Time to pull back and enforce a no go zone within 10 miles of the border.

Not propaganda. Its true. They are bombing hospitals.
no they are not, any building bombed in Idlib is quickly labeled as hospitals by the same religious fanatic whom the western countries are bombing (or supporting for vested inerests) in other countries.

Not propaganda. Its true. They are bombing hospitals.
ohh look they bombed a hospital, ohh look they killed poor doctor....
