But it works as if we lost in conventional war,then nuclear weapons will be rained on enemy (not only India)
So its kill and be killed.no second option.

I think nuclear weapons are developed only to use when you lose conventional battle.
As for pakistan, defeat from India will send the nation in irreparable syndrome ,so kill and be killed is better than that syndrome.
So don't think pakistan will not use nuclear weapons against India after loss in conventional war.
Battlefield nukes will be used to wipe out any assault by india

Old design other than payload offer no upgrade over JF-17 in fact it will require escort armed with BVR during the whole operations

also tanker would be required to fly far distance from shores of Pakistan prior to the strike package, this mean

- We either have to provide constant air cover to tanker which further mean engagement of additional aerial assets for the operations than numbers would normally required

- Or would have to make Aerial refuelers fly without air escort this will expose our tankers to Indian ship based SAMs or Carrier Based Fighter Jets.


This mean development of a completely New Fighter Jet Design which will take at least a decade to initiate manufacturing then additional years to attain full Operational Status
Tankers just need to fuel aircrafts once they are up as thats time where 30% fuel goes...they dont need to go deep

Jh17 is old but it will be dedicated aircaft not a multirole..

IMO best option is acquire j31/j35 in next 3-5 years

Second best (train has gone) was to make jf17 bigger like gripen NG but engine was the issue(lack of 100-110kn engine). With rd93 ma i would expected them to get a taller landing gear to allow larger payload under the belly but apprently that didnt happen

J10 can do as well and is multirole fighter

Lastly none of IAF carriers are as capable as USA group carriers

Neither do they have the escort strong enough to defend against PAF solo 1 antiship jf17s (if you launch a dozen) nor do they have the launch capacity(lack of CATBOR) or payload capacity to remain beyond 500km

We can also invest on antiship version of babur that can hit at 800km range..sure an expensive but a necessary deterance
My assessment is that any IN carrier group has to come within 500km for any meaning full impact and thunders can carry a strike role with 2c802 within 800km using a standoff antiship weapons(200-300km range)

Or single antiship cruise missle(like raad at 450km)

Obviously not ideal but better then what mirages use to offer

We saw some pics of supersonic missile of PAF last year ,so if PAF can make it anti ship cruise missile(with atleast 350km range) launchable from JF 17 ,then it will do our job to strike AC .

For now..but issue will be in future when CATOBAR IN comes in we may have issue with them being launched at out of range distance
Solution is either j10, jh17,j31-35 or newly improved block iv jf17 with focus on range improvement(not likely to happen)

C802 is subsonic,CM 400akg will be better to use or supersonic cruising missile will be best solution to strike IN .I hope we will get our own SM within one or two years as we were working on it from 2016.


But one thing confuses me , probably NESCOM was working on SM,but design was revealed by PAF (AWC doesn't reveal such things) so has NESCOM stopped working on it and has given this job to AvRID?

But c802 can get in easily as compared to cm400 given its terrain hugging

We should build acquire new weapons..either join turkey or find a patner for AAM, antiship/crusie missles

Best option is to get a more effient missles with similar weight profile as c802 but better ranges (300+km as compared 230km for c802)
LSM for example is 500km range with similar weight profile

What if we convert Ababeel into anti ship Ballistic missile?
Thanks to its design we will have enough room to put sensor suits in its MIRV bus.Remove two warheads and put powerful radar on it.

We will have our own version of DF 21D.

If it was that easy, other countries would have already done it. Projectiles moving at hypersonic speed generate plasma layer at the missile surface due to friction. This causes sensors to malfunction. That’s why US, China and Russia are struggling to guide their hypersonic glide vehicles.

We can get help from China.they already have DF 21D.

For Naval role, you'll still need a dedicated Naval arm. Multiple AC's parked out of the Pakistani EEZ and bases across the border will make it very difficult to manage the battle and hundreds of miles of ocean with 2 missile per jet firing capability. So the "heavies" are becoming a critical need for the PAF.

You mean US and Russia are struggling with this. We have solved this since at least 2010. Maybe you haven't been up to date but we had guided AShBM since then in service.

Only US and Russia are still working on how to guide hypersonic glide vehicles. We told them WZ-8 or WZ-7 or Devine Eagle, and satellites are just some parts of the guidance and the secret to bypassing plasma cloud.
