this is the weak point Khomeini would be upset to see hapening today: the fact is that there is a group who cheated the elections. guardian council said before elections that it was allowed to cheat to help for Islamic matter (to translate it: let win Ahmadinejad)
Mesbah Yazdi gave a fatwa to cheat to help Ahmadinejad !

elections:
only allowed some of them. for exemple for mayor of tehran no reformist candidate allowed => for sure they could't win LOL
for the last presidential elections : we already seen all the cheatings

As well i would like to add, even being from sepah family and very religious, that Khomeini didn't want bassiji / sepah to enter politics . now you see how much economic power they have.

Pasban jan, we lost our democracy. Hopefully we can get it back soon when some smartt people in power can understand they cannot go on with violence, and anti democratic behaviors

The IRI was never really challenged but the propaganda war was won by the Americans and their green clowns. The Americans got many high-profile Iranians on their side and they are using them to win the hearts of the gullible. However having failed its main objective, I believe that the green movement proved to be an effective concept and the Americans will focus on this type of warfare against Iran. They will also enforce greater sanctions on Iran to further spur unrest among the political elite and the capitalists of the IRI. And we will see even more desertions. Moreover, in contradiction to what many like to assert unknowingly, the IRI does have the support of the majority in way or another. My views pertaining to the IRI are mixed. I believe there needs to be a large re-structuring alongside an equally large strategic re-thought. The original Basij paid a great service to Iran and Iran is in debt to them for their sacrifices during the Imposed war. Unfortunately, their name has been much lowered today. But then again, this is no place to discuss this. Perhaps in a more dedicated thread.
