we have more than enough for credible deterrence our Nukes yield from 15kt to 250KT+ (pending on RV) majority of them are 150KT + we do not need to add 20-40 nukes to our arsenal each year unlike our neighbor because our nukes have high yields meaning we would only need to use 10 to achieve mass destruction.

Actually thats what I meant by term 'entire' Punjab. Even in a normal nuclear exchange we cannot destroy Lahore without sacrificing Amritsar.

Well, it does not really matter how much nukes you have, you have 20 nukes, you have 50 nukes, you have 100 nukes, same thing IMO, you can have a major effect with even one nuke, all the numbers give is a room for error, e.g a malfunction in delivery of warhead in one or two missiles or so.

The most important thing for any country with Nuclear weapons capability is production and maintanence. You do not just make a nuke and put it in a warehouse and lock it. Nukes are very expensive to secure, transport and deploy.

If you have too many, basically you are spending lot of money for securing it .. the guards, the codes.. the protocols etc.
