You see as Europe is becoming more anti-islamic due to the refugee crisis, differences in culture and etc. Many of the countries within Europe who have always opposed Turkey to join the EU (and succeeded) are now blaming Turkey for flooding their nations with millions of immigrants. America at the same time seems to be supporting Turkeys enemies (the Kurds).

Mean while the Turks are becoming ever more fundamental in the Islamic beliefs and are actively supporting various islamic insurgencies across Asia. There is a fundamental split in culture, ideas between the Christian/secular West and Islamic Turkey within the NATO structure.

In the past Turkey's secular military/government allowed the country to be supportive of European/American/Western beliefs however since Erdogan has taken power, he seems to have taken over supreme power of the country and a military coup seems less and less likely as the days roll by.

So how long do you think Turkey will remain part of NATO? Will it require a certain course of action e.g. genocide of Kurds for the NATO membership to kick them out? Perhaps another war with Greece could be the tipping factor?

US has many nations as friends that are more "fundamental in the Islamic beliefs", such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, etc. US itself has funded Taliban and Al-Qaeda. They don't care about your beliefs, "human-rights" as long as you are their ally.

BTW, I am not sure whether you are a troll or just dumb.

Turkey has leverage over NATO and Euope. they are already blackmailing Germany to pay them billions of dollars a year or Turkey will just allow more refugees to flow into Europe through Turkey. I also don't blame Turkey solely for this mess or the blackmailing.

everyone is to blame from the U.S to Saudi Arabia.

NATO shouldn't even still exist in the first place

but all and all

NATO won't kick Turkey out and Turkey won't leave because who is going to back them?? unless Sunni Arabs form their own NATO

Supporting Terrorist Groups make you islamic?

Europe is becoming anti islamic because they protest on refugee crsis?

Dude which world are u living in?
USA supports terrorist too dose that make it islamic country? Turkey is as secular as it always was. And europe is as free for religion as it was ever.

How long ? The survival of NATO and the survival of Turkey (Since so called Arab spring) has become interdependent.. So for the foreseeable future

turkey will stay in NATO and NATO needs her. Turkey is playing an important role in smuggling oil from Iraq and Syria. NATO also need turkey to face the brunt of the russian invasion in any future war which many people believe is very near. So in near future turkey will act like a "turkey" for russia.

Turkey in NATO is a Cold War hangover from when they bordered the USSR. There's no reason for it to remain.

Turkey has no option, it'll never leave NATO

Turkey under Erdogan can be compared to Pakistan under Zia ul Haq and both played with fire. I guess, NATO itself will not exist in the near future as Europeans are becoming more nationalistic.

Given Russia's takeover of the Crimea and the re-assertiveness of her Black Sea fleet, coupled with her deployments and actions in Syria, I think it safe to say that the "hangover" is over and it's back to a new cold war footing. Turkey is fully aware of that and will be staying in NATO for the foreseeable future.

The question now arises is the status of NATO, If it's current form suits the status quo, The theater has moved from the North Atlantic to Eastern Europe, How relevant would it be with increasing reluctance of it's original members of Western Europe in getting entangled in a conflict in the East ?

Only half of Europe feels threatened by Russia. The rest (Greece, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Hungary, Italy etc) are good friends with her.

NATO's relevance is less in danger now than it's ever been since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Western Europe will stay in NATO, the security benefits it provides are unmatched by any lesser organization.

I could see the beginnings of a secondary Eastern European defence bloc, possibly including the United States as well though. This would include permanent military installations in Eastern Europe. This wouldn't replace NATO, but be in addition to NATO (similar to the CSDP for the EU). It would be another option that could be called on in anycase.

This bloc could plausibly include Ukraine.

As to the answer to the topic question. A while yet. :D

What is the point of including Ukraine in a security bloc when America has already said there is no chance of a military response to Russia after Crimea?
