How is the F-16 when compared to JF-17s ?

Strong rumours arise from Islamabad that PAF has finalised its decision for the JF17 targeting pod. Final verdict on the exact selection is not out, but it seems like there is one clear winner out of the many systems competing. It is also likely that PAF did not opt for the Chinese pod as previously speculated. Many discussions from Islamabad suggest that PAF has had multiple successes in obtaining western avionics, such as the targeting pod, from sources other than the Chinese.

This is a major blow to traditional Chinese suppliers, who take the JF17 business for granted.

There is no such thing as a block 3 aesa equipped JF17 yet.

infact not only is the jf17 inferior in twr range and payload the thunder does not even have a dedicated hms yet.

the f16/52 cost 4 times the price of a thunder yet 99% of the worlds air powers small or large will pay 4 times more to get the falcon.

India had expressed "displeasure". Hurt is a bit far fetched. The reason being you already operate more than 8 times of that figure

Actually the US congress put pakistan in the soup- it questioned whether Pakistan should be given 300million dollar to cover the purchase- which would be over the 15Billion already given over the last decade
Do take cognizance of the fact that majority of congress have negative view of pak role post 9-11- be it supporting taliban, the very famous Osama Raid and now Mansour.
India alone couldnt have planted or influenced the decision

Is it Turkish and does the recent visits to Turkey by our high ups have something to do with it? As far as I know Italians dont do anything along the lines. US would be imp9ssible to integrate on JFT without US nod however there has been a recent order for more PODs ,,,. So interesting times ahead.

It is with the blessing of the US Pakistan has got these Turkish ones. They use their technology and some parts. Soon you will get the news about 14 more F-16's that PAF will be getting.

The latest terror attack in USA has once again raised the status of Pakistan in USA's war on terror. The border issue with Afghanistan is clear that the Afghans are desperate to some how keep the Tango's occupied by Pakistan so that they do not start causing more problems for the fragile Afghan forces and Government.

Contemporary analysis shows that ASELPOD is a good candidate for the JF17. It is likely that PAF has opted for 15-20 pods from Aselsan.

Is it officially confirmed or Speculated.

Official confirmation will only come if PAF or ASELSAN announces the sale, which is not likely.
