How India brought down the US’ supersonic man

It seems the USA should have offered more help during the 1971 war however due to being occupied in the Vietnam war we could not. If we had managed to get the Chinese in the war and Pakistan could have ended it like Sri Lanka crushed the Tamils, Losing East Pakistan lead Pakistan down a path of radicalization and paranoia.

Actually, the way things were going then; Tricky Dick and Henry were the only votaries in D.C. for this US "help business". Capitol Hill had few takers for their intentions. Even most of "Foggy Bottom" (i.e. Dept. of State in D.C.) were not with them. So the duo could,nt have pushed their agenda for long or far. And as it is USA was right up Sh!t Creek in Viet Nam. So there was'nt much that they could have done anyway. Plus the Brezhev-era Soviets were no pushover!
In any case, Tricky Dick's paranoia and consequent shenanigans had already started, so he was only heading with a one-way ticket into the "Dust-Bin of US history".

Regarding the underlined, that process did not start then. All that happened as a consequence of that episode; was Pakistan's "Deep State" swearing eternal undying enmity to India. Because they had been completely exposed and thoroughly discredited.
But Pakistan nowhere came near to becoming a radicalised state.

That process began much later, in the period of the Soviet Occupation of Afghanistan. The Saudis had to be brought on board to execute the anti-Soviet plan- mainly to bank-roll it! Plus that process helped Zia to consolidate and perpetuate his position in Pakistan's destiny. That changed Pakistan's future for ever. And will there be a going-back?

I would take that any day than :

-- having half of my country lost forever.
-- 90000 POWs surrendering
-- ALL objectives of war lost , including the starting air raids.

You lost the war from A to Z .. accept it and move on.

Dear Indian cry baby, we all know who won the war.

We are however talking about the air war.

'65 - Pak, '71 - We.

Lmao. You can keep saying that, but please do explain how you won the air war in 1971?

You can laugh your *** off. That doesnt change the facts.

When your fighters are retired to hardened shelters for the fear of further losses and Indian bombers could bomb any target inside Pakistan at will without resistance, it pretty much means we ruled the skies.

Is it that hard for you to understand..? Victory doesn't mean who lost less...it is who was the last man standing. We were.

@ RazPak : Don't let nationalism blind you from the facts ....

Operation Chengiz Khan to gain Air Superiority - Total Failure

East Pakistan - Full IAF Air superiority , PAF even sabotaged their own F-86s in Dhaka.

West Pakistan - IAF flew far more ground attack sorties and bombing missions , hence caused much more damage to PA infantry and tank brigades , also most IAF losses were due to AAA and ground fire , PAF had no role in the same.

PAF adopted a defensive posture , not committing assets when and where needed the most.

Examples - Battle of Longewala , Battle of Poonch ....

Lmao, There were over 200 positions to attack for the IAF in the eastern front against 16 Sabers. 11 were destroyed by PAF themselves, so this means air superiority in your distorted world?

We dominated the air battles and the proof is there for the world to see. You Indians are just embarrasing yourselves.

Chuck Yeager was a true legend and an air ace, he knew what kind of people indians were and are. We won the airwar, and though we lost one war, we dominated South Asia, (not subcontinent) for a thousand years.

Who wants an even war , now you want the opponents to be matched evenly to judge their performances in war ?

Dominated air battles lol ... biggest joke !

Yes indeed the proof is for the world to see indeed ... you Pakistanis just revel in falsified glory.

Tell me the PAF objectives of 1971 war first and then lets debate further.

In '71..you did not.

Instead you parked your fighters in hardened shelters after the huge losses early and our bombers roamed the skies of Pakistan without any resistance.
