How I lost faith in multiculturalism

I use to have a better outlook on Australia. Here in US, Australia enjoys a favorable perception, many people want to vacation there. After reading and researching more about Australia and the news coming out of Australia my view of Australia has changed; in the sense I think I have a more accurate perception of Australia then I did before. I doubt I'm alone.

My only criticism is about the commercial media.

Is PM Julia Gilliard one of these "white supremacist"? What are her views on minorities and immigration?

She is an utterly nondescript, run-of-the-mill politician who panders to the prevailing demagoguery, whether it's immigration, burqas, climate change, etc. She doesn't have the strength of character or the popularity ratings to stand up for principle -- assuming she has any.

My theory is that there is absolutely no need spend public resources on finding out why a particular ethnic community produces more criminals than other. Start deporting the migrants who commit crimes and see if the stats for these communities go down or not. Australia already has it fair share of criminals, it needs more skilled professionals not drug dealing violent thugs.

And a lot of these criminal happen to be migrant themselves. White Aussies themselves are at the receiving end of such crimes a lot of time. You tell me if the names like John Caratozzolo, Michael Baltatzis, Joe Gullaci, Alfer Azzopardi sound Australian to you? Stricter laws and stronger police crackdown is needed in cities like Melbourne and Sydney where street crime is skyrocketing day by day.

Migrants should come to Australia and add to it human resource not add to its prison population. As simple as that., if it was upto me, if you are a 1st gen migrant and you commit a crime, you get deported. We ll see how hardcore these thugs are then.

Western societies have gone past "social and ethical development" when it comes to criminals and laws. Even the rapists are provided counselling when in prison, just in case if they got scarred while raping some innocent girl. Society has gone too "soft"

Most people, including myself, would agree with that. However, the larger issue is crimes committed by people born in Australia.

He honestly has NO idea about Australia, yet he tries to act like he does because he reads biased media reports lol. It's funny.

He tries to paint Australia as some white racist country and he completely ignores the fact that a large part of the population isn't white and a large part were born overseas.

If you have never been to Australia below_freezing, you shouldn't try to speak like you know everything about the country.
