What's new

How do you Chinese view the rapid development of the past 35 years?

You mean subcommittees ? Yes, we have those also in Japan.
Japan, as I see, is more like family-run politics, like several centuries ago, historically, Japan didn't have a strong centralized government for long.

The Daimyo-oriented regionalism in Japan is still very alive and strong. Yes, that is true.

You can see it in the internal-dynamics of Japanese Diet. This is why a strong Emperor is crucial.

With a weak Emperor, weak Imperial Household, Japan has a limited foreign policy.

Then, the essence remains the same.

One strong similarity between China and Japan is the focus on a strong , robust Centralized Government.

:)

But mostly, Emperors in Japan were weak, isn't it? I don't know too many about that history before 19th century . If the central government is too strong, I am not sure if most Japanese will accept that. In China, the case is that we don't think ours is centralized enough and we call for even a stronger one, that's why President Xi gains more popularity than the last weaker one.

Central Government has to be strong, but there should be an independent judiciary as well, which will ensure that there are no illegal practices. There has to be a balance of both.

I agree with an independent one.
How about China's ancient central government? No party at all. Every officer is going up to the top through examination(seems the same as CPC).

True, true. Such a shame that the closest ones to the Emperor had almost unlimited power, yet were deprived of some abilities. The use of eunuchs ! :(

Btw, bro, one thing i find amazing is that civil servants in Japan and China -- during ancient days -- would commit suicide if they were dishonored or charged with corruption . Talk about a 'no nonsense' policy eh? :)

Proceed our discussion 8 hours later, got to sleep

Basically USA market fundamentalism of no planing, and rely 100% on market force is a bankrupt ideology. USA free market is not going to work and I always believe the even her most fervent advocate Milton Friedman knew that.

The existence of government is to protect the poor against the rich and the rich is the government. An absolutely free market is just another euphemism and code word for slavery and exploitation.

To enrich themselves, USA elites allow the entire country to run into disaster.

I am a socialist and I believe USA is heading for downhill.
In the US, rich elite and corporations control the Congress, in China the CPC control the corporations which equal more things get done to benefit the common folks.

What China does is called primacy of politics, in the US and in the last 20 years increasingly also in the EU, it's the primacy of the economy, which will lead to slavery and exploitation.

This is a major reason why China has better economic performance than most other developing countries.

In many other developing countries, foreign multinationals come in, squeeze all the profits, then leave.

You can see this in Africa and other places.

Whereas in China, the market leaders are often state-owned companies, such as ICBC (currently the #1 largest company in the world).

If the Chinese economy needs a stimulus, the CPC can simply order our major banks reduce their reserve requirement ratios, and lend out more money to small and medium businesses.

If there is too much inflation, the government can order them to increase their reserve requirement ratios.

And things that are necessary to nation-building, but often unprofitable in the short-term (especially social/physical infrastructure like schools and roads) can be incentivized by government policy.

This kind of thing is especially important at our current stage of development.

Much harder for rich elites or foreigners to manipulate/control a one party system based on merit than a multiparty system. That is the biggest reason I prefer China's current system. A mishmash of capitalism -socialism-Confucionism that is suited to our culture.

As a Viet, I always impressed with China. I recalled watching a documentary when the Gorges Dam was build (or some other documentary), the chinese population had a lot of faith in their government (and actually pretty content). And you guys are really really smart by diversify. People always made fun of the chinese smog, but china always leading on alternative energy research too. While in America, congress argue about that shit. And corruption, I don't know if all the news lately are just a front or these things are genuine. But I am glad that chinese government are cracking down on chinese corruption, true to Justice Bao root. It almost feel like you guys are doing more in this front than in the USA also. Lastly on foreign policy. I am actually glad Russia and China opposed the USA all the way in regard to the middle East. It good to have the Americans in check (likewise, I am glad the American presence in East and South East Asia.

Seeing all those beautiful pictures, give me a lot of hope for Asians in general. Haha, who know maybe the wealth will trickle down to other countries. Though, your tv series getting sucker with these crappy cgi. But anyway, there are plenty of things the chinese should be proud about.

I've only been to some ASEAN countries in Asia, I can only say East Asia and Southeast Asia are promising.

Whether one party or multiple party is good, I stick to Maoism. Mao advocate multi-party elections, press freedom and independence judiciary and economic socialism.

How many Mao's works did PDF people read. Lux read a lot. I swallow up many of the Mao collection, 毛主席选集, and that is the reaason, Lux is able to put forward ideas that most are not able to.

During the civil war period, some Mao's ideology during that time is not only the treasure for China, but also for the entire mankind and it is time to rediscover them.

In PDF,LUX is the ONLY supporter on Mao's ideology.
