How China views Obama's trip to Myanmar

And how was America relevant to instigating those? Not all Arab nations experienced it.

Let's not get into conspiracy theories now.

do you even read what you post and then see reply to it in it's context? Of course not. Also perhaps your becoming aware of burma's situation for the first time. But to argue for the sake of arguing maybe entertaining for you BUT - the US and the developed nations for decades now have told burma to go democratic if they wanted to be accepted by these countries. So - they had to go democratic. Now you want to keep challenging what has been in the international sphere for decades- have at it. I need smart debate to continue..

what glaring example? the novice example that Morsi is not going to be antagonistic to China not unlike his predecessor? . Yet he is dependent on 2 bill from the IMF and 2 bill from the US. ROFL. This the reason why I laugh when I see you post and see that attempt to sound like a think tank.

I love it when you resort to personal attacks and tap dancing when caught by your own inconsistencies. You posted, and are desperately trying to defend, that there is an automatic shift from China to the US when authoritarian regimes are replaced by democratic ones. Reality does not oblige your simplistic claims.

I do enjoy your tortuous tap dancing, though, so do continue to entertain us.

Update: I see now you have changed your initial wSJ article claim and post to put a new alternative reason. hmmm think tank.

There is no 'update' to the WSJ post; the timestamps are all there.

Nowhere does it state, or have I claimed, that a rapproachment with China equates to a 'snub' of the US.

What is causing your hallucinations? Is the water in Atlanta OK?

Hmm are think tanks not supposed to read the article and be at least some what knowledgeable ?

I did not claim any such thing you said. I never tried to even defend it as an absolute. I simply highlighted an interesting statement. You came in with a WSJ article claiming a hello to china by Morsi in a positive way was the smoking gun... to only delete it and move away from that initial try and make another statement.

Nothing is 'deleted'; everything is as is.

If you can muster the ability to read English, you will note that I specifically wrote 'balanced relations' in that post.

Yes, you highlighted a specific statement from that article and it came back to bite you in the as$.

Your dance of desperation is entertaining as always.

Dude you first claim your argument on the basis of the WSJ article then in post 29 you move away from that claim to quote another reason- albeit the #29 was generic. Two completely different reasoning to a flawed assertion that only in your mind did I claim it to be an absolute.

I continue to marvel at the " think tank" title you been given here. You entire posting history here is based on a conspiracy by everyone towards those you favor. You been this way from day one... and I've been calling out your conspiratorial mind, like the time you claimed Zionist have a rule and hold over US and it's foreign policy, as laughable.

I help you to further the highlighted statement by now saying for the first time- There is a lot of truth to it ( note that's not an absolute). Yes- democracies favor the US heavily. If 98% of such countries lend credence to that statement... it is a safe statement to make. It is not an absolute but a safe assumption to make.

Oh, the desperate back-peddling is delightful! As always...

Zionist have a rule and hold over US and it's foreign policy, as laughable.

Just because you hopped on a plane to the US does not mean you have the faintest clue how things work in the US. You are an Indian through and through. Just because you are ashamed to be an Indian and hide behind the US flag to beat your chest only makes you look comical. And your abject ignorance of all things American only makes the comedy more acute.

blah blah same old bigotry you are infamous for. when everything fails and you fail at having some basic education on any topic you speak- you go back to you Indian , you Hindu you blah blah. I can't help that you think you are a legend in your mind. I could offer you that " Lal topi" to help identify your birds of a feather. You would not know jack about the US or me if it came and hit you in the face.

I only call you out on your Indianness because you claim to argue based on knowledge of American culture. Therefore, your abject ignorance of the same becomes a valid subject of contention.

Oh boy, it seems where ever these Americans go they leave behind chaos and destruction. Guys slow down, a Myanmar winter can be very cold.

Cambodian protesters make 'SOS' plea to Obama

PHNOM PENH - Cambodian villagers threatened with eviction staged a rally Sunday with "SOS" banners urging US President Barack Obama to press the government on land rights during his upcoming visit.

About 100 protesters gathered at a well-known forced eviction site in the heart of the Cambodian capital carrying large black banners emblazoned with the word "SOS" next to photos of Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

"We are asking Obama to save our lives," said Tep Vanny at the rally, held on a large plot of sand once home to her lakeside Boeung Kak community before a private company filled in the lake and displaced about 4,000 families.

"We are demanding that Obama and Hillary help push the government of Cambodia to respect human rights, democracy and put an end to forced evictions and land disputes with villagers," she told AFP.

Tep, who is among a small number of residents still living on the site, has become a leading land rights activist in Phnom Penh.

Obama will on Monday become the first sitting US president to visit Cambodia, where human rights groups accuse the government of stepping up a crackdown on dissidents and on protests, many linked to land disputes.

Clinton will accompany Obama on the trip.

The White House said Obama would raise "grave concerns" over the human rights situation in bilateral talks with Cambodian Prime Minster Hun Sen, who has kept a firm grip on power for 27 years.

The latest protest comes just days after eight residents facing eviction near Phnom Penh airport were briefly detained for painting "SOS" on their roofs next to portraits of Obama.

Rights groups say the government is working overtime to suppress criticism ahead of and during the high-profile East Asia Summit, which brings together leaders of 18 countries for talks on Monday and Tuesday.

Despite official warnings that no protests would be allowed during the meetings, Sunday's event went ahead without police interference and in view of the Peace Palace where Southeast Asian leaders were already holding talks.

National police spokesman Kirt Chantharith told AFP the authorities would only force the activists to disperse if they took to the streets.

"Actually they are wrong. But the government forgives them," he said.

"The government respects human rights but needs to keep public order for the summit".
