How China has built major roads in Doklam (Satellite images)

.
I love the changing goal posts.

First it was, we are protecting Bhutan due to our mutual defence treaty.

Next it was, no roads in Doklam!

Now it's, well you can have a bunch of major roads in Doklam, just not this specific one. But if you read the articles, the road being worked on right now is the exact same road that Indian was complaining about to begin with. :P
Lol, next will be you can build roads but you cannot use it. I told these Indians since day one, the road till Doka La IS ALREADY COMPLETE. So India was splurting nonsense when they said NO ROADS IN DOKLAM.

But we have been consistently saying India's chicken neck being threatened before and now without any goal post shift :P my question still remains where in the article it says the road construction started southwards towards the militarily-sensitive Jampheri Ridge
Jampheri ridge is just a ridge, the real concern was Doklam Plateau, the highest flat piece of real estate there, that's where China can station hundreds of missiles and howitzers. Stop shifting the goal post genius. YOUL LOST!

Mr.Genius Can you explain the 180 meter withdrawal agreement happened earlier

Mr.Genius Can you explain the 180 meter withdrawal agreement happened earlier
It was 100 meteres, then 150 meters, and now you are giving me a 180 meters figure. Do you even know the geography of Doklam? 180 meters from the Doka La border is still INSIDE DOKLAM GENIUS.

So where is the 'mutual withdrawal'? Ever wondered why your MEA used the world disengagement? It meant both parties will maintain a certain distance to reduce tension. Now all along the border, the Chinese troops are flanking you, essentially we are controlling Doklam. Thank You India, what a strategic move.

. . .
According to who, the Indians? Didn't they also say that road construction had been stopped in Donglang?

Well you quoted the authentic Indian NDTV channel for your argument so you cant deny when i quote you another Indian source :D

The fact that road construction is continuing, came from the Chinese government itself.

NDTV just got some satellite pictures from Microsoft to verify that it was happening.

It is clear from Google Earth that the road in image of the OP was built back in 2009-10 and is not in recent months.
Even the author of the original article has accepted in his official twitter account that the article was about roads built a decade back.

NDTV - October 10, 2017 20:26 IST

Satellite images show two roads from Doklam which separately lead to the town of Yatung in the Chumbi Valley, where China bases the soldiers that it uses for its operations in the high-altitude Doklam Plateau.

- Satellite images show China steadily making roads in Doklam
- Some run a few hundred metres from Indian posts like Doka La in Sikkim

High-res satellite images accessed by NDTV show that China has, over the last decade, been steadily converting tracts of land in the disputed Doklam Plateau into full-fledged all-weather roads that run a few hundred metres from Indian posts such as Doka La in Sikkim. The satellite images show two roads from Doklam which separately lead to the town of Yatung in the Chumbi Valley, where China bases the soldiers that it uses for its operations in the high-altitude Doklam Plateau.

The state-run Global Times said this week, "During the Doklam face-off, Beijing intensified efforts to develop infrastructure in the region and road construction there will be a long-term trend."

India backs Bhutan's claim to the Doklam Plateau, which lies North of the "Chicken's Neck" - a narrow strip that links India to its northeastern states. Any roads in or around this area are a cause of concern for Delhi because they could give Beijing access to this strategically sensitive terrain.

------------------------

The irony is that if India had settled the issue quietly, China would likely have been prepared to make diplomatic concessions on the matter of road construction.

But now that India has turned it into a big diplomatic incident, the Chinese government has no other option but to speed up road construction in Donglang.

Gymochen is the eventual destination of these road. It sits on the last crest that looks down into the chickens neck/Silguri corridor. This places India on the defensive as the entire Indian north east is exposed. PLA is pushing to create infrastructure that could support large force in the Doklam area. At the moment the physical geography prevents large scale troop movement. However with additional all weather roads slowly coursing and spreading south to Gymochen it will place PLA in a position that it could cut off the Silguri Corridor in a decisive move. This is what has turned Doklam issue into what it is. Both sides know what is at stake here.

After so many lies, deceptions and boasting to cover up his humiliation... now everybody sees Modi's naked shame

It is a very nice news and I was waiting for it. Some indian members made such tall claims as to leave PDF if China ever built the road... so will they abide by their promise or it was just another claim that they made...
I knew China will build the road eventually since there's no one to stop them and there was no such agreement was reached between China and India. The next logical step to be start the pressing the chicken's neck slowly. :D

Please share the pics :)

This is what it's all about. The chickens neck/Silguri Corridor. PLA is improving it's iroad network from Chumbi Valley past Dokla and south to Gymochen - which is the real target destination of the logistical infrastructure. I think this is exactly what PLA is doing right now and this is why India reacted this summer. However PLA has learn't from the summer incident and provide flank protection to ward off Indian Army. Then it has resumed construction of roads heading south toward Gymochen. Expect soon more then one road built south to Gymochen which will enable PLA to move large forces south to Gymochen from Chumbi valley thereby threatening Silguri Corridor. I think the Indian government privately have conceded defeat but they can't make it public. Instead Indian Army now will be forced to beef up it's strength in Silguri sector to insure against the posture that PLA will have [sat in strength on top of the Gymochen crest overlooking south toward Silguri] thanks to these new roads.

If China compromised their sovereignty, than current party should not be running the show.

One feel good article and another giving the opposite story, so which is the truth bhai? while your MEA is suspiciously quiet?:rofl::rofl:

Bhai, the satellite is showing the construction activities on Doklam over the decade. Before this, Indian members were saying there were no roads at all in Doklam, and India is only reacting like this because of this one road, the truth came out, there were other roads covering the whole Doklam already completed. Strategically speaking, by reaching Doka La, Doklam plateau is already covered by Chinese roads, and now defended permanently by Chinese troops in return for postponement of extending to Gyomochen. Strategically it was Doklam plateau which mattered, the last flat peace of real estate at high altitudes, able to accommodate hundreds of howitzers and missiles pointing directly to Siliguri. Thank you India for handing us Doklam on a silver platter.

Changing goal posts, I thought India wanted to stop China from bullying Bhutan, how come India is now fine with multiple major roads being built in Donglang, after the Indian unilateral retreat?

Try reading the article, it says that road construction in Donglang is currently ongoing, and China has said the speed of road construction in Donglang has intensified.

So first it was, "India will not allow China to bully Bhutan! We have a mutual defence treaty with Bhutan! Doklam is Bhutan's territory!"

To a Indian unilateral retreat, and then gutless silence as China continues to build massive amounts of roads and infrastructure in Donglang.
