How China has built major roads in Doklam (Satellite images)

This is what it's all about. The chickens neck/Silguri Corridor. PLA is improving it's iroad network from Chumbi Valley past Dokla and south to Gymochen - which is the real target destination of the logistical infrastructure. I think this is exactly what PLA is doing right now and this is why India reacted this summer. However PLA has learn't from the summer incident and provide flank protection to ward off Indian Army. Then it has resumed construction of roads heading south toward Gymochen. Expect soon more then one road built south to Gymochen which will enable PLA to move large forces south to Gymochen from Chumbi valley thereby threatening Silguri Corridor. I think the Indian government privately have conceded defeat but they can't make it public. Instead Indian Army now will be forced to beef up it's strength in Silguri sector to insure against the posture that PLA will have [sat in strength on top of the Gymochen crest overlooking south toward Silguri] thanks to these new roads.

T'was just a matter of time, China resumed building roads and military infrastructure, Bhutan knew it and India knew it, Nothing much either can really do about except keep it under wraps from the public

In essence China isn't violating anyone's territory, Hence not breaking any international law as far as i understand

NDTV...your channel is saying that...
@Chinese-Dragon sir can you please share the link so Mr @ito gets satisfied?

Media is media...and they have no reach at LAC. Unless it either comes from Chinese government or Indian Government, there are just speculations.

What does it prove mate? Media is Media, India is India and China is China...

Chinese govt made it very clear right from the start that there was no compromise on building the road and China will continue building it and after Indian soldiers left, there was nothing to stop China from constructing it.

But you guys claimed we will believe only when it built so now it is built as claimed by your own media channel.

I think China would have been happy to compromise (and stall construction for a significant period of time), if it was settled quietly. But now that it has blown up, China's options are much more limited.

It seems strange that after all that noise from India about their Chicken's Neck Corridor, their "mutual defence treaty" with Bhutan, and the fact that they will never tolerate a road in Donglang, they have quietly allowed China to build multiple major roads there.

And what they say is, have you built the road yet? Where are the pictures? :cheesy:

Well their own NDTV obliged, here are the pictures.

@war&peace

@Jackdaws @ito @SOUTHie etc.
Looks like India has fallen into a catch-22 problem!! Now is the time to take decisive action - to be or not to be type!! IMO, this may ultimately lead to who will get Bhutan earlier...

According to the Indian analysts, as I have read in IDR, they are not good at formenting long term strategies and suffer from indecisions at every corner!!! Moreover, some sort of pacifist giving up type attitude ultimately settles in them!!! So, taking China head on with a rock solid resolve and ability to take infinite sacrifices may not be on the cards....

It is a very nice news and I was waiting for it. Some indian members made such tall claims as to leave PDF if China ever built the road... so will they abide by their promise or it was just another claim that they made...
I knew China will build the road eventually since there's no one to stop them and there was no such agreement was reached between China and India. The next logical step to be start the pressing the chicken's neck slowly. :D

Please share the pics :)
And, what a welcome relief for Pak!!!! And, another bubble got burst for the Pentagon boys!!!!

LOL, it's a satellite image that NDTV got from Microsoft.

Or do you think China has hacked all the US satellites to show completed roads in Donglang?

If China compromised their sovereignty, than current party should not be running the show.

Here he is again, stale news served up in a new newspaper, so becoming more tasty.

Where do they dig out these trolls?
LOL at the Indian going bonkers with humiliation!

And Indian government denied it. The road building is just speculation.
LOL at the failed cover up! Why so shameful? What happened to shupa powa?

You built the roads in your area and boasting here.

There is no construction in the disputed area and any constructions in this area will evoke response from Indian Army.

Chinese chickened out in Doklam and moaning here showing some pics of roads built in their own land.

NDTV - October 10, 2017 20:26 IST

Satellite images show two roads from Doklam which separately lead to the town of Yatung in the Chumbi Valley, where China bases the soldiers that it uses for its operations in the high-altitude Doklam Plateau.

A 2017 image of Chinese all-weather road in the Doklam Plateau:

- Satellite images show China steadily making roads in Doklam
- Some run a few hundred metres from Indian posts like Doka La in Sikkim

High-res satellite images accessed by NDTV show that China has, over the last decade, been steadily converting tracts of land in the disputed Doklam Plateau into full-fledged all-weather roads that run a few hundred metres from Indian posts such as Doka La in Sikkim. The satellite images show two roads from Doklam which separately lead to the town of Yatung in the Chumbi Valley, where China bases the soldiers that it uses for its operations in the high-altitude Doklam Plateau.

The state-run Global Times said this week, "During the Doklam face-off, Beijing intensified efforts to develop infrastructure in the region and road construction there will be a long-term trend."

India backs Bhutan's claim to the Doklam Plateau, which lies North of the "Chicken's Neck" - a narrow strip that links India to its northeastern states. Any roads in or around this area are a cause of concern for Delhi because they could give Beijing access to this strategically sensitive terrain.

The irony is that if India had settled the issue quietly, China would likely have been prepared to make diplomatic concessions on the matter of road construction.

But now that India has turned it into a big diplomatic incident, the Chinese government has no other option but to speed up road construction in Donglang.
