How can Pakistan develop its inland regions?

We shouldn’t develop our inland regions rather develop our coast more. Develop Hub in Balochistan since it’s right beside Karachi. Make it next port city in Pakistan than apply same formula for Gaddani, Ormara, Pasni and further west.
Inland regions can be used to produce more expensive goods and services, those which won’t be affected by transport costs due to their price.

Agreed for heavy industries, if we can get Karachi right, and especially if we can get Gwadar up an running correctly, and connected to Europe via a rail route to Europe and China via the Iranian rail network once the sanctions end. If Gwadar works, the. We can expand on the coast. In the mean time we need to develop all regions similar to hundreds of kingdoms in Germany in the 19th century, so that when the rail modernization comes, we can have companies that utilize local raw materials in their regions to produce products at competitive prices under food management, able to reach global markets.

The first step into developing your rural areas is to gather all the waderas and nawabs from localities, line them up and execute them.
Then, and only then will come progress that is beneficial to the region.

Or you could try land reform 1st....proper one, not the selective, mismanaged one like Bhutto.

coastal areas mei konsa Duudh ki nehren beh rahi hain bhai

As you know most of Pakistan lives inland and as a country, our coastline is not all that big (its a huge disadvantage we face as a country)
If you look at countries most of the development happens in their coastal regions - China, US, Australia etc to name a few

What kinda strategies Pakistan can employ to develop its inland regions? it cant export much as its not all that competitive to export from midland Pak (Punjab, KPK, Gilgit etc)
I know we are exporting textiles from Faisalabad but honestly, I don't see export industries becoming globally competitive from that area- whatever work people in Sialkot, Gujrat are doing is literally sheer hard work. culutre (dudes built proper airports on thier own and clientale value into the billions when our government is generally extremely anti -buisness and anti manufacturing in general - so I respect Thier hustle)not really natural competitiveness
I think higher education, tech, import-substitution, can be a way out while the south should be used for export industries- Balochistan's coastline is not habitable for a large human population cause of water resources

as of now this is our only coastline just 2 districts (Balochi coastline is no mans land as no one lives there)- even here a lot thata can be considered delta
220 million + rely on 2-3 districts for sea access

We need six coastal cities and development cities on the western route of CPEC.

you really think a rail lane line can transform the entire landscape where a good manufactured in Peshawar can become competitive with that of Karachi or hopefully in the future Gwadar ?
I really don't think so - first its probably for passengers and even if it is for goods- what's its planned capacity like? how many tons of goods it can transport and in how many days? (so many things to consider)
We already have motorways how can rail line one-up them from a manufacturer's perspective?

ML-1 project will make huge difference compared to transporting in trucks.

In ideal situation all of export industry will shift to Karachi and Gwadar but thats not the case. Is Gwadar ready to become punjabi-pathan-muhajir majority city? Doubt it. Sindh gov also wanted to develop Kenti bander port near Karachi but faced opposition from locals.

Northen Pakistan need to invest more in IT education to earn foreign exchange. Also since 80% of market is in north, import substitution industry can be developed in KP, Punjab, AJK, GB.

.
One easy way is if provincial capitals are moved to small cities. Sindh capital to Sukker and punjab to Multan similarly KPK to Mardan and Balochistan to Sibi or something.

Following steps needs for the Development of Inland Regions :

1. Establish at least 2 more Provinces, by dividing Punjab into 3 Provinces. They can be :

a) North Punjab - having Districts of Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock and Mianwali.

b) South Punjab - having mainly Seraiki Speaking Districts - namely Multan, Bhawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Lodhran, Layyan, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur.

c) Central Punjab - Remaining Districts.

2. Establish an Independent LBA (Local Bodies Authority) - who will manage and transfer funds to local bodies, who will listen the public complaints about the local bodies, who will monitor the performance of UC counselors, Tehsil Nazims, District Nazims and City Mayors. This body needs to work under the Federal Government and will have sub-branches in the each Provincial Capitals.

3. Strengthen LBS - Local Body System, with District Capitals having own Mayors, who gets elected directly by the Popular Public Vote, while each district have DISTRICT NAZIM.

4. Each District should have 5 Commissioners :

a) Police Commissioner (DPO of SP / SSP Rank)
b) Health Commissioner
c) Education Commissioner
d) Emergency Services Commissioner (Public Safety, Rescue & Disaster Management)
e) Commissioner for Land, Town Planning and Infrastructure Development

5. Focus on most Development on deprived Areas on priority basis... that is In Balochistan, Turbat Panjgur Washuk Kharan and Awaran..... In Sindh, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal and Jacobabad......... In Punjab, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Muzaffargarh..... In KPK, it's Upper Dir, Shangla, Battagram, Tor Ghar, Lakki Marwat, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan.....
