Sialkotis have a very entrepreneurial spirit, always have for centuries. They don't wallow in self piety, nor cry about central/provincial governments ignoring them unlike other regions of this country and get things done on their own. Image how much Pakistan would progress if we had a 100 other small-medium sized cities/regions with the same ethics and cohesion.
Truly Admirable.
We can easily have more than a dozen of these cities- cities like Faisalabad, Gujrat, chiniot, Gujranwala, wazirabad, shiekhupara hell even cities around potohar can be added in the list
These cities have everything that makes Sialkot successful
Decent HDI levels, historical industrial regions from the British times or Ayub, similar culture to that of Sialkot, connected to national highways
What differentiates them from Sialkot is cohesion between buisness cammunity,a pro active buisness council
In a country like Pakistan where government's rarely play a role, Sialkot has perfected the art of working together, controlling the destiny of their city, not relying on government for barely anything
To make cities like Sialkot someone from LUMS or anyother buisness school of Pakistan needs to research buisness councils of Sialkot and how they operate, what's the blueprint
And somehow transfer that method to buisness council of other cities
Imagine a city like Karachi with a cohesive, united buisness council - that'll change the whole game
