people who have to defend China day after day are talking of single party dictatorship lolololol. Pakistan is also a single party dictatorship, and that party is called "the Establishment". Most top leaders of Pakistan is past decades have been backed by the army.

I gave you few points to make the calculation...1) What was the foreign currency export value of jute 20 years before and after partition. 2) What was the foreign currency import value of rice, sugar, salt and other food stuff before and after 20 years of partition...you can easily do the math.

Why would we care what political choice China makes????

China is just a massive help to South Asia because it has beaten and humilated a hindutva extremist communal India

This control of India is a immensely important for South Asia and it's why China gets so much support


Pakistani in 70 years have never voted for a Extremist party and Extremists like Modi or yogi, our politics has always been reasonable

We currently have a democratically elected government


Bangladesh is a one party autocracy

Pakistani politicians have never been Extremists, nawaz, zardaris, Bhutto's may be corrupt crooks but they are relatively liberal people

Bangladesh actually lost its independence to India, looking at the Indian infringement in BD affairs, kind of a client or a vassal state.

So it's a found and lost...

And that country gained independence from India in 47...

Well Pakistan cannot be compared to BD as the former is multi-ethnic and the latter is mainly of a single-ethnic group. Look round the world and the single-ethnic countries do better than multi-ethnic ones economically.

Pakistan had those 24 years between 1947-1971 where it was able to use BD resources to enrich itself. No surprise that after BD left in 1971, Pakistan has mainly done poorly and is behind BD now in all indicators apart from military strength but the 2 countries have different needs in terms of military power. Pakistan is somewhat disadvantaged economically over BD as it has to spend far more on the military over BD due to it's relations with India over Kashmir.

Pakistan needs to get rid of its feudal system, better educate its population and carry out major economic reforms as otherwise it will be left behind India significantly by as early as 2030, let alone BD which is powering ahead economically at rates only seen before in East Asia.

Honestly mate, I don't think Pakistan lagging behind has anything to do with the military and if it has it comes right at the bottom of the reasons. The multi-ethnic, multi-lingual factor is true but even that is insufficient to explain as Singapore has done wonders despite being a Chinese/Malay/Indian combine.

The primary reason and the reason the writer has skirted around. A reason most Pak members here will assidiously avoid is the elephant in the room. The Bangla state is a very boring, simple formula. To look after, care for and enable a healthy and prosperous life for it's citizens. That is it. And it has worked on this goal with much success. The future is bright and with luck Bangla will follow the path of East Asian Tigers. There might well come a day when some Pakistani's will be jumping on boats to Chittagong.

The formula for Pakistan on the other hand is grandiose and idealogical. The Pakistani state has morphed into a global contractor of Islam. It's primary goal is not welfare of citizens but the trumping of Islam. The sad part is a greedy eite has used this as a cloak under which it has raped the Islammic Republic while singing songs of Islam. To put it bluntly instead of recieving literacy and improving human indicators the masses have been fed Islam, Mullahs, Madaris, Ummah.

And you see the result.
