There are quite a few Indian Muslims I know personally who are desperately trying go get into Pakistan. Private message me if you know any of the authorities who can assist them please.

I have distant relatives in India and still they prefer there girls to get married a Pakistani boy, they said that you have freedom to exercise Islam which we don't have.

I know many family who bring bride for their sons from there Indian close relatives just to make their live better and safe.

Many year ago Sister of my friend got married to Indian cousin but that man came to Pakistan instead of living in India because his family feels Pakistan is better place to live.

I think otherwise a state formed in the name of religion is a bad idea .. however what is done is now .. What happened in India every few years happens every day in Pakistan .. Ask the Ahmedis and Shias who are slaughtered like cattle !

Actually things have indeed changed. You don't think things will change overnight in a billion plus poor country with a history baggage do you?

Hundreds of people have been convicted by courts and are in jail for Gujrat and Orissa violence that took place after 2000. As a result the old beliefs that riot perps don't get punished has changed too.

One myth however seems to remain in pakistani psyche. That hindus riot and muslims don't. Truth is many if not most riots are instigated by muslims because some mulla instigates them. You certainly know how these mullas can be. As a result many riots take place after Friday afternoons. To that extent things have actually gotten worse with the wahabbisation of mullahs.

That's the risk of engaging with Saudia. Any trade or investment from Saudia will come at a price. Some African Wahabis who have gotten religious education from Saudi Arabia have returned to create problems in their native countries.

Yes but thats a worldwide problem, and as @Judge says the state's ability to exercise its writ has gone up big time. So while that does not make every such case any less tragic, it does become less damaging to the fabric as perps are arrested and convicted.

Consequently today, there are far fewer riots than there used to be.

For example -
2010-2020 period will have fewer riots than 2000-2010 period.
2010-2000 had fewer riots than 1990-2000 period and so on.

Their hindu counterparts also exist in India. No point denying it. They consider their violence reactionary (like that organisation that bombed muslim placed few years ago, in ''revenge'') and hence justifiable.

Again, thankfully they have been made ineffective. As I said, the govt has done better in India compared to Pakistan, otherwise idiots on muslim as well as hindu side exist and feed off each other. And yes the Saudi influence is a major factor.

I hope the pakistan govt becomes more effective too, thats the ONLY long term solution.

Our Government as incompetent as it may be generally, has made very strong institutions. And the Citizenry is getting educated and aware with unprecedented speed. Couple this with rising incomes from a rising economy and global exposure means that people are demanding from accountability and performance from the Government.

India's Rule of Law has increased exponentially in the last two decades. The State's ability to enforce itself is increasing. An example - Per capita filing of Court cases is rising in India. This means more people are resorting to Judiciary than settling scores themselves outside of the Law.

While this is leading to a strong backlog of cases which means cases drag on for years and years, it is also putting pressure on GoI now to invest more in Judiciary. Because of this Judiciary now asks for police at its disposal so that cases and investigations can be done faster, which means they are exerting pressure to increase the size of the police.

Everything is related. And everything is improving across all sections. Though the improvement is not uniform geographically. Some states are improving very fast, some others, barely at all (like UP/Bihar), but all are improving.

They are getting listed now mate. Earlier these things were never reported either by media or the police. The Government wanted them all hushed up. Rarely did they make news.

For example, the crime in Delhi has risen almost 100% in the last 2 years. Its not that it has actually increased. 100% in two years would be downright impossible unless Taliban had entered Delhi!!

The police had standing instructions earlier not to register cases so as to show an artificial low crime rate.

Similarly, the police barely registered one case after a hundred communal riots earlier!
