Your full of contradictions. In another thread you were hell bent on claiming that Turk's were your antecedents and how Anatolia was part of the greater Mediteranean region. Now tell me sunshine do Syrians belong to another planet? At a genetic level there is precious little differantiation between the Syrian's (who are decendants of many but majority being Assyrians and Phoenicians) and other Meditearnean peoples.
Further from historical point of view the Syrians have stronger claim to Christianity and Hellenic civilizational cultures than Italians as they were part of the original Greek world prior to Roman's learning from the Greeks. Further they were even part of the Roman Empire when Germany etc were the "savages" and outside the Pax Romana. It is historical fact that Syrian soldiers stood sentinel on the boundaries of the Roman Empire even on Hadrian's Wall in Britain.
You have absolute right to not wanting migration but try not to denigrate these victims of war or
even if they are economic migrants. It's not like Italy has not seen economic migrants, victims of war (my late uncle saw action in Italy in WW2 and saw the conditions close up) and famine in Palermo region.
And talking about migration you had better buckle up. If you think you got concerns about migrants from West/South Asia or you had better prepare for Africa. Over the next few decades the largest population increase is going to take place in Sub Saharan Africa. Furthermore contrary to what people think migrants tend to be not the poorest as migration involves money and connections.
As Sub Sahara Africa experiances massive population increase and improved economic condition this will create a pool of 100s of millions of potential African migrants. Already there has been marked increase in Eritreans, Zimbabwians, Zambian's etc. This human Tsunami will move north into Libya and make landfall in Sicilly and Italy. By the time this human wave goes into full gear the last thing on your mind will be the Syrian's as well endowed young African's make run for your women.
By that time you will be scrambling if not begging those Muslim countries you so disparage like Libya, Syria, Tunisia, Morocco or Algeria to help you to stop this invasion. There are already signs in history that this has happened before.

And it will be trickier to handle this African wave. For a start most are not going to be Muslim but Christian's. That will prevent the "Islam" card being used. In addition the historical guilt from the slave era persists in countries like USA. As USA is the standard bearer of everything in the West it will be far more difficult to adopt robust means of controlling this wave which will of course coincide with even more shrinking population size in Europe. Italy be will the first to witness mass scale "Jungle Fever" - sorry for plagiarizing Spike Lee's movie.
