the relationship will not be so sweet once majority of Indonesians becomes Christian.

Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world. It is completely unrealistic to think that they will become majority Christian.

Why ? once it was 100% hindus and they become 99% muslims ....its not hard to imagine they can be 99% Christians in the future. .....even China is heading toward 99% Christianity . You should be more worried about that.

The most powerful person in India is a white European Catholic (Sonia). No other developing country can make this claim.

And it is much more likely that India will become majority Muslim. India right now already has the 3rd largest Muslim population in the world. And they have a much higher birth rate than Hindus do.

Even if we assume this absurd allegation is correct ...what is the point of this post? That Hindu/Indian society is secular in nature ?

Not 99, 87% of Indonesians are muslim. And I agree that it is not hard to imagine that Indonesia is becoming christian nation in the future. This is what makes the different between majority Indonesian people with other religious communities in the world; Indonesian people always look to the religion that makes them safe and prosper, more so gives them example of living in peace, the main cause that caused Indonesian converted to Islam in 13rd century was because most Hindu kingdoms and communities were at war with each other and caused a great catastrophe in the society. At that time, Muslim kingdoms from middle east and mediteranean were at their greatest achievement and glory, that was why Indonesian people were rapidly converted to Islam and began to spread Islam in the archipelago. Then, for 300 years, european colonialists have been trying to convert Indonesian people to Christianity and then failed, that was because those europeans came to Indonesia with forces and invaded their home, Indonesian people can't see the peace that Christianity offers at that time, that's why the majority Indonesians didn't accept christianity.

Now, the fact that hardliner Muslim communities in Indonesia cause many problems in the society, Most Indonesian people are very close to their cultures, and those Arab wahabis are trying to invade their cultures by spreading their terrorism ideology. Indonesian people are starting to seek another religion because Islam is becoming considered a religion that makes no peace anymore. I am a muslim, but I don't close my eyes to the fact that Indonesian moderate Muslims, although is the biggest muslim community, are no longer practice Islam totally more than just a title in their citizenship data. You can see that most Muslims in Indonesia are different with those in the middle east and South Asia, except the hardliners wahabi shits.

This is an old Thread, but btw I have to clarify some statement from nufix first,

And there are another shocking data revealing that Indonesian are actually praying more (more than 70 percent) than Egyptian and Iranian (50 percent something) . I had the data before, but lost...I will try to find it and bring it here..if I have time.
