Its quite sad, as the temple was reopened by the Pakistani government in November last year.

and how did you figure out you are responding to a Hindu?? May be his post had some different color..

Now that is secularism for you, when a Christian answers a post raising a question on supposed Hindus action against Muslims..

Didn't figure out. Just saw the flag and assumed. "If he ain't Muslim, he's probably a Hindu" Don't see the problem in that. India projects this image of temples and beautiful Hindu art mostly.

Good to know he's a Christian.

Ya I just Killed a Muslim Last week... didnt enjoy it much as he was just 7 years old...

Wow! How very secular.....

Ya Indeed People with very Peaceful mentality

Ok I get a whole bunch of Indians either trolling or leaving non-sense which I can't understand, BUT not a single one bothers to answer the question.

You are wrong by a huge margin.. Taj Mahal and Mughal Art apart from Mughal food are quite well know across world as Indian.. In fact Taj Mahal is one of the wonders of the world.. To be honest, I don't even know what is Hindu art..

He didn;t answered you buddy.. That was a reply to my post..

And to answer your question, I don't hear many riots involving Hindu/Muslims these days.. The last one was around 12 years back and people learnt a big lesson from it..

India barring few incidents here and there has till now stood tall to secularism.. There is no state favoritism to any particular religion..

Taj Mahal I know, Mughal cuisine too. Infact, that's one of my favorites. I was referring to alot of those dances, Bharathanatyam etc, musical forms such as Carnatic which tend to give me an impression of being purely Hindu artforms. Well, they may or may not be, that wasn't my question anyway.

What I'd really like to know about is the state of the average Afzal or Akbar in India, how well u guys really integrate with each other as a society and whether they are really equal like what u say or in reality second-class citizens with no avenue for redress.

Just to give u an example, I know this guy, he's 3rd generation Singaporean from Bihar. This chap still has some links with his distant cousins and stuff in Bihar. He's a Hindu btw and his village is overwhelmingly Hindu with some Muslims scattered about in pockets. I asked him once "So what do they do if they want to eat beef? They have like a separate slaughterhouse/market?"

He tells me "No man, those villagers in my ancestral village will kill the entire family and burn down their house if they do that. Police won't really give a $hit."

My reaction was "W T F...."

First of all, even though those art forms have ancient Hindu origins but there is no religious association to them.. Many Muslims are excellent performers of those dance forms. Another example is, Hindu origin Dandiya is played even in Pakistani marriages so I take a offense if you call it Hindu.. They are Indian and that's it..

Dude, there are places where Hindu/Muslims integrate quite well and also places where they don't.. But thing is the situation has improved a lot in recent past and they are improving for better I am sure.. Nobody is second class citizen in India.. They are equal by law and there is no discrimination in jobs/education on the basis of religion..

So u r telling me u can slaughter a cow and not get slaughtered in turn?

There are enough slaughter houses in India and enough topic on PDF which has discussed about them.. Now stick to the topic.. one last thing, since I answered you lot, could you please tell me if you got a Pakistani connection?

Like what?

Slaughterhouse was just an example. My point was to highlight two things. No matter how much you would like to say otherwise, general perception we have of India is that the society is heavily fragmented and divided. Islam and Hinduism do not exist as merrily as what we would like to believe.

I believe other minority issues exist in India as well.
