Padua/Pirdiwa is an area about 200km away from Baraibari. Because of its strategic importance, Padua was under Indian occupation since 1971. The latter was neither an enclave nor an occupied territory. It was a BD territory the IA troops tried to occupy on the night of 20 April, 2001, in retaliation against the BDR assault and occupation of Padua on 16 April. Padua BSF camp had 33 jawans, who were captured by the BDR trrops. Are you sure the 400 troops were in Boraibari or in Padua?
In retaliation the IA troops assaulted Baraibari BDR camp on 20 April with 400 troops, where 13 BDR troops were guarding. Another 400 was waiting in the Indian land. The latter group did not have an opportunity to participate.
