Dear Hiroshima survivor, if Japan had nukes in 1945, you wouldn't have been a Hiroshima survivor.

And the point of this is?

U-234 carries Uranium for Japan.

The Uranium carried by U-234 was enough to make two atomic bombs, to blow up two American cities -- 1,235 pounds of 77 percent pure uranium oxide -- unusable by the destroyed Nazi hopes, it was destined for the Japanese atomic bomb program.

Even if Imperial Japan succeeded the Japanese had not the delivery capability. Hiroshima, or any Japanese city for that matter, was quite an inevitability.

if they had nukes im sure they would have planned more wisely. i mean they did manage to attack Hawaii which is not very far from US

He should perhaps request all the nations to denuclearize simultaneously including USA, China and Russia as well. We all are at the risk. Say even if we all de-nuclearize. Do you think the much touted rogue states with insane dictators, loose cannon mullas and unrelenting tyrants will stop? Never. Instead the whole world will be in further danger.

Nukes are a bad thing but there are THOUSANDS of precautionary measures in storing them in at least normally functioning countries with nuke powers. they won't be launched unless and until it is last resort. Unless one is expecting someone like Taliban or AQ to come over as "legitimate" government, be assured that no one will launch nukes because retaliation of anyone by any kind will be of armageddonic proportions.

The attack on Hawaii was when the US was at a 'peace time' military status. After The Battle of Midway, the Japanese military effectively became contained. The Japanese had no long range bomber like the B-17 and it took the B-29 to deliver Fat Man and Little Boy.

That itself is the problem.

I remember an American poster in another forum saying that he missed Cold War as in spite of its danger his rivals the Soviets didn't believed in the concept of heaven or did they believed that they are sanctioned by an higher power to teach 'non-believers' a lesson. So they will not press the 'button' that easily. That cannot be said about the Governments of some countries like Iran.

thats highly debatable.When one is facing a possible nuclear annihilation,one may take extreme,rather unimaginable measures.

You can always say,its impossible,the only question is,can one take the risk??Or lets say the Japanese didnt go after the American cities at all,but the bigger bases on the islands over the Pacific,enough to create a lot of panic.

A well meaning guy but too idealistic.

No chance for India and Pakistan to give up their nukes without the rest of the world doing it first.

I think nukes have been good for the regional peace.
