Those who born in Indian subcontinent are Hindus. Its a geographical identity. Thats why it is called " Hindustan ".
Hinduism is a vast cultural civilization with different faiths. It doesn't matter what faith you have , your identity is relevant with geographical Hinduism.

Well, earlier in british term, tribal religion of north-east were termed hindu but although looked similar but ethnically different. And many sub branches are there who believe in some hindu gods but system complete different than sanatan dharma

Assamese hinduism completely different from western hinduism north Indian and south indian hinduism is almost identical but north-east hinduism is totally different

Well, care to explain what religion are people of Bali? Below ius extract of how Indian Supreme Court defined Hinduism. Basically like water. It has no shape and is all things to all men.

And Hinduism is not Indian exclusively but found in Burma/Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Bali etc

Hinduism does not exist.
It is superstition and pagan worship mixed into one.
