I see. One is Kshatriya and other is a Vaisya. Still how did Vaisya get onto the reservation ? I thought it was only for Shudras ? and non caste's.

For e.g Jats were never backward and shared everything with Rajputs on social level but due to vote bank politics they forced themselves in OBC rank so as many other well to do castes.

There is no doubt the whole thing was orchestrated by SP to consolidate its Muslim Vote bank and to ensure that they do not drift away due to his govt. non performance issues.

BJP might stand to gain something from this, RLD and BSP stands to loose something. I don't think congress will matter in UP this time.

Wrong, its is the grand daddy of all masala script writers at work here. My father was in Muzaffarnagar as the tensions boiled over- he was running evaluations for a test group of children for his org to check the quality of education and gauge the quantum of meaningful retention by the pupils. A certain someone informed a certain community that a bus load of returning people were in fact going to attack them- imminently. Get the hint.

SP's ability to consolidate the votes depends upon how well they can protect their voters- that's has been the equation post the free for all days in the 90s. Fear generated by SP's failure and consolidation of the community based on "shared victimization" will not benefit BJP and most definitely not the BSP.

Jats get reservations only in UP, not in haryana, as they are part of OBCs along with Yadavs.
