Do Not Marry Idol Worshipers
Quran: [2:221] Do not marry idolatresses unless they believe; a believing woman is better than an idolatress, even if you like her. Nor shall you give your daughters in marriage to idolatrous men, unless they believe. A believing man is better than an idolater, even if you like him. These invite to Hell, while GOD invites to Paradise and forgiveness, as He wills. He clarifies His revelations for the people, that they may take heed.

You should send this to the boy's parents... they may be unaware of this.

Marriage is a religious concept. When you marry you have to do it by the rules of your religion otherwise its worthless and especially invalid. Muslims cannot marry idol-worshippers. Their marriage is therefore invalid.

Living in India, I have come across many Hindu-Muslim marriages. Those Muslims that have no interest in religion before marriage, such Quranic verses have little meaning to their lives, and this shows in their marriage choices and their lifestyle following marriage.

In the majority of the cases that I am familiar with, the Hindus that have converted to Islam for marriage ended up becoming great Muslims, that we all would look up to emulate.

I have noticed that Hindu, muslim marriages are most common in places like guyana. Where they either don't follow any religion, or celebrate both traditions, and end up with mixed up off spring. Perhaps, any pdf members from there can shed some light on this topic?

from My experience the Hindus are now basically Christians they get christened get married and have Christian funerals in Caribbean . The majority have now mixed with the Africans and taken up Christian traditions if there is mixing it’s done under Christianity

one other thing the Muslims are more Indian then the Hindus in their dress food culture and mannerisms .

you won’t see a Caribbean Hindu in Indian clothes but will see the Muslims wear the kurta pyjama with pride showing off

Muslim converts are usually more knowledgeable and practicing than born muslims
I didn’t understand the dad’s justification. Sure ahli kits. People can be married but is the girl practicing Christian? If she’s not then it’s not allowed

Why did he bother keeping his?.. he could have adopted hers to appease her...
Unless the girl converted to Islam, his marriage is not valid. When a Muslim girl marries a kaffir, a lot of guys online go bananas. Lets keep the same energy regardless of gender :pop:

Exactly. It's null and void according to the Quran. It's the same as them living together outside of Islam.

During Islam's early days... All the sahaabas who converted had to also leave their Idol worshiping spouse... They couldn't stay in those marriages... If it true for them.. it's true for us. We aren't more special.

In another few years that sentiment on this board will be called racist.
