I do not know how you can even compare the two. The so called tampon nativity sign was just made out of unused tampons materials as a craft, a collection item rather than a product for sale to be used by women. Whereas the leggings and other items on Amazon are for general use. That way Hindu gods have been depicted in thousands of amusing ways in India itself. Laxmi and Ganesh bombs on Diwali being the most prominent examples of those.

If you actually read the brief description given under the tampon nativity scene you will find the artist was actually worried about using the tampons too indicating they are not bereft of sensibility.

This crass act on the other hand compares with the artist who dipped cross in urine and displayed it as an art. People were offended, very.
