US govt owns or mange both hotels and airlines through different depts directly, indirectly and in semi private capacity.

They do their own for govt employees (including military) and families. This is one famous hotel in Hawaii. Discounted rates for DoD members and families. Usually get booked year in advance.

Indian govt has divested most of its hotels and other Airline businesses. But Indian govt is still left with many hotel properties. Some of which it cannot dispose of for security reasons. One in the most prime locality in capital Delhi overlooks PM residence.
