What point are you trying to make? That because according to IIT website, they are ranked 36th in the world (self praise), therefore you also consider it 36th in the world? Even though QS does not put it in the top 50 in Engineering and in top 150 overall?
Is this what you trying to tell us?
PS. Feel free to discuss rankings of Pakistani universities in a separate thread. I don't think they are ranked very high.
@coffee_cup
In "science and technology" category alone IITs and IISc are indeed ranked in top 100.However in "overall" category,they do languish a bit because of the fact that there are no serious humanities or medical branches on offer in either of these. Besides they also languish on foreign faculty and students front.
I must bring it to your focus that IITs do have a lot of foreign students on exchange program for 1 year etc however they are not regular students of IITs.Around 100 foreign students can be found in the campus of IITM at any time of the year.
Here is what your own QS rankings says-I can clearly see at least 5 indian engineering colleges in top 100 "worldwide" in mechanical/aeronautical category

Similarly in electrical/electronics category IITD does fall in top 50-

Whereas I can NOT find even a single pakistani engineering university in even top 300 in the same category!

In electrical sciences category i could find only TWO pakistani colleges that too in 200-250 range.

Thankfully,IITs have started conducting their dreaded JEE examination in other countries as well particularly in asia.
. An american citizen will find it relatively easier to get admission in MIT in comparison to an Indian student getting admission into IIT.
Thats what I have been saying all along!It is far easier to get admission in top US universities than getting admission into any of the first 5 IITs!
